Each team plays six division games. Separating them by 5 weeks, even using the first and last week's, would take 25 weeks. There's only 18 weeks in the regular season.

Division games for same opponent... playing the same opponent within 3 weeks can be huge disadvantage if one team hit by injuries.

I like 3 divisional games (one vs each rival to finish the year)... the other 3 division games in late Sept-Oct. Prefer not to start season with division games either if first couple of weeks are becoming the "new preseason".
