1. And that's why you should look at every player's career stats.
2. Should have sold high on Hammel during the 2012-13 offseason as well... but hindsight is 20/20.

i said we should have kept him and said he earned it due to playing with torn cartilage in his ribcage...but i dunno now...we dont need another guy that strikes out 10000 times

He sure looked like he was worth every penny the first month of the season....but then came back to earth as Mark Reynolds.

Could use a RH DH. Not him, but maybe someone else pops up.

i always kind of liked him because of how shameless he was about striking out but i think the o's did a really great job of valuing his talent. because davis is having the season reynolds would love and manny is a gold glover there isnt really any place for him to play except dhing anyway.

...me too, but as the DH. Guess I was wrong about him. Didn't think he would regress this much, especially being only 30 years old.

i also wanted him as DH and top backup at 1st and 3rd to give them a day of rest here and there...

his power from the dh spot could have been good but seing what we seing now, i was wrong

Bro's I still think we should pick him up...last year he heated up in August and September.

Bro's I still think we should pick him up...last year he heated up in August and September.

Let's look at his stats over the three most recent seasons:

2011: 0.221 / 0.323 / 0.483 / 0.806
2012: 0.221 / 0.335 / 0.429 / 0.764
2013 so far: 0.215 / 0.307 / 0.373 / 0.680

Notice his low OBP this year and the seemingly declining power (which is especially problematic considering that Reynolds is known to be a "three true outcomes" hitter). I think I'll pass.

According to Britt G, unless the Indians find a trading partner or Reynolds accepts a demotion, the O's are willing to sign Mark to a cheap deal. It will be interesting to see what happens.

And then there is this.
The Orioles do have interest in reacquiring Mark Reynolds IF the Indians secure trade waivers on him (which they have not done)

The Indians are idiots if they do. It's obvious they aren't going to find someone to trade him to, and his contract his steep to have him not playing. I assume that they will just release him after the 10 day waiver period expires.

i dont think they need him, the team is crushing homers and striking out a lot. they need obp guys not high slugging guys.

...and Reynolds is failing this year from the perspective of both OBP and SLG. If the Orioles do pick him up, I seriously hope that it's only a depth move.

I'll admit I was a fan of MR. I thought he adjusted well at first base, and he is a team player and fits in well in the clubhouse. Even Cleveland admitted he has kept his attitude professional.

That being said they guy is just a streak hitter. Once he goes cold he does seem to stay cold. Also, I don't think he is able to sit the bench and be a role player. It just doesn't help his struggles at the plate.

I do wish him well. I believe that he is a good person and works for a team, rather than someone that brings controversy into the clubhouse.
