I feel like throwing darts is going to be just as accurate unless you predict the Broncos.

All four have a shot at some kind of playoffs and the other 3 have valid arguments for the division. GL figuring this one out.

I'll go Broncos. Homer pick I know. They have what looks to be an easier schedule than the Raiders or Chiefs and have actually upgraded the defense from last year that was still pretty darn good. If they can get anything out of the 2nd year players at the QB position they can make some noise.

Best division top to bottom IMO, but every team has some warts. Should be highly competitive again this year.

Raiders are the chalk pick. KC seems to maybe have gone as far as they can with Alex Smith. No QB in Denver. Chargers: see KC.

Maybe the more interesting question (as a Seattle fan) is over/under on Lynch's total rush yds. I'm saying 650.

I think I would take the Under on that bet for Lynch's totals. I've watched a few of his work out videos and he just looks slow as can be. I don't think that year off has done him any favors.

Yeah, he looked used up most of the time he played in Seattle 2 years ago. Had 1 100 yd game and averaged 3.8 a tote behind the same line that Rawls got 5.6 behind. This year, Lynch probably plays in 10-12 games and gets about 50 per.

Sounds about right. The Raiders seem to really like the young guys they got on the roster that showed some promise last year so I think they can take it easy on Lynch if need be. I don't think he will be the piece that gets them over the top that is for sure. His leadership/locker room presence is maybe his best asset at the moment.

Well if nothing else, the Chiefs are the perennial Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL

No, but in all seriousness, this season looks a lot like me kicking back, and lining up to purge some cap liabilities in Smith, DJ, and Hali; while figuring out which of the young players can actually be part of a core and which are just 1 year (more like 8 week) wonders. Doesn't mean they won't win the division or make the playoffs, but they didn't make much of an effort to improve the 2017 Chiefs when they had a pretty sizable amount of assets to do so.

Andy Reid's record in Kansas City: 11-5, 9-7, 11-5, 12-4. He also had 10+ wins 8 times in Philly.

If you are putting big money on the under of 9.5 on the Chiefs then you don't value your money, imo. I'd stay away from that bet entirely because its not hard to imagine the Chiefs going 11-5 or 7-9 depending on how the football bounces and who stays healthy. It wasn't like the Chiefs were super healthy last year.

I think the only bet I'd try in the AFC West off the top of my head would be Chargers winning the Super Bowl because I think they are far and away the most likely longshot (even if they are a longshot)

honestly 3 of the 4 teams in this division can win the division. I am picking the Chiefs more on a feeling.

SD is a notch below the rest, but the top 3 are so close that it makes this maybe the 2nd toughest for me.

I chose KC, but clearly you can make a case for DEN, or OAK.

OAK...Carr is the probably the best QB in the DIV with the best supporting cast. But have they improved enough on DEF?...on paper they added 3 rookies that should factor this yr, but when/if they become impact players you can never really project...looking at their schedule, they definitely come back to the pack from 12 wins.

DEN...if I knew the trigger man was going to play consistent all season, the Broncos would be my pick...from what I've seen, IDK that to be the case yet.

KC...Process of elimination leads me to KC...they can win w/o a great performance from Alex Smith...still one of the better DEF units in the league.
