I would have to say it was FSU last year considering they only played against one regular season ranked team, their Conference Championship game was against Duke, and their National championship game was against a team that was 3 - 9 the previous year and had one of the luckiest seasons ever.

Would like to hear some other possibilities.

I agree with last years FSU. That being said winning a championship with 2 losses doesnt set the bar very high either so LSU has to be in the talks somewhere.

Had to be '11 Bama. Only beat 2 ranked teams during the season (lost one of them), didn't have to play in the SECCG and had 44 days to prepare for LSU in a rematch that never should have happened.

Nobody will match the 2011 ALABAMA team

If nothing else, they got a chance to replay a team they lost to on their home field.

This is NOT ABOUT whether they were a great team.
This about the easiest pathway.

Nobody had it easier than the 2011 Tide.
They didn't play in a conference title game, and they played a very soft regular season schedule by their standards.

And they got the re-do, that countless other teams never received.

Once again (don't get all butthurt), this is not whether they were a GREAT team.
They were a great team....but that is not the question at hand.

it is rating the pathway.

the sec that year wasn't very good. it was filled with underclassman qbs who weren't good or weren't good yet. I still don't think that Arkansas team was that great and went 11-2 I believe

2013 FSU. I don't disagree about 2011 Bama having an easy schedule. But we were obviously the best team that year. And probably one of the best in the BCS era.

I don't think having two losses automatically means you had an easy road to the title.

Not sure about 2001 Miami they played 8 ranked teams which is impressive, but only 1 team inside the top 10 and that was Nebraska who was all the way down at 8 and had given up 62 points in their previous game.

Alabama. Only team that did not have to play in a Conference Champ game and was not required to win their conference.

Not sure how you can say that. 2 most questionable NC are Florida and that Bama team. Both of those teams were 1-1 vs the team they played. Florida lost to FSU in a rain and mud filled stadium on the road. Bama lost at home to a team that had one of the hardest schedules ever. Take the title, but hard to say they were "obviously" the best team

We dominated the first game and lost because Cade Foster is the worst kicker in CFB history.
21-0 in a dome that was 70% LSU fans proved we were the best team.

You lost and yards were 295-239. Dominate is not the word. Most of those kicks were low percentage kicks if I remember correctly and just bad decisions.

Just looked it up. 44, 49, 50, and 52. 1 was blocked. Hard to blame a college kicker for missing those, no chip shots.

Let's dissect this a bit.

To the bold. That little old Duke team who stayed right along with aTm who gave Bama fits. Duke this past year was actually pretty good.

To the underlined. That lucky team who happened to run ALL OVER and BEAT Bama? It only takes 1 season to turn around a team with the right coach. That was Auburn.

Cannot help that Miami and UF went belly up.

Was it a easy schedule? Yes it was, but the way you made it sound FSU played all high school teams.

And as Bobby Bowden said. "To win a national championship it takes skill and luck." Not for Oregon and Bama losing FSU would not have been in the game.

It was the easiest schedule of any champion and probably close to easiest of any participant of the BCSNCG. That was the question. Other teams lucked in to the game but had harder schedules.
