I also never realized why in a basketball sense, if a guy is half black, half white, that the black guys get him.

Aaron Godron and Zach LaVine are both half white.

It doesn't always work that way. Just depends on who it is. Jason Kidd was always considered "mixed". And, Klay Thompson is the same way. At least, that's what his dad was saying was the issue with his draft stock when he was in college.

Experience shows in the tourney. Most of the guys who dominate aren't freshmen, but seniors. But the NBA is all about potential, and athleticism. If you have NBA level potential and/or athleticism, you're a lot less likely to stick around and gain experience.

The other factor is socio-economic. Sure there are plenty of poor white kids in the ghetto, and plenty of rich black kids in the suburbs; but the prevailing stereotype exists for a reason. Financially stable kids are more likely to stick around than bolt for the NBA, and like it or not they are more likely to be white.

50% passes the 1 drop rule by a wide margin.

With all due respect , I watched that game and that's not the way I saw it. I thought he played a tremendous game.

Agreed, he is definitely not the reason why they lost. Like most, I'd had very limited experience watching the dude until the tourney, and he impressed the hell out of me. Doubtful he has much (if any) impact in the NBA, but he was a hell of a college player.

The poor dribbling/turnover, not boxing out and forced shots is what I'm getting at.

He played selfish, they lost.

21 points 7-13 FG's 5 rebounds 5 assists
He is the heart of the team

Why is it they dominate in the tournament but are second-tier players in the NBA?

I haven't read a single reply, but first I would say white guys are not dominant in cbb. I can't think of one that went or tried going pro out of high school. There are definitely more black players that are one and done.

What's left are a bunch of white guys that are older and more mature and they understand their coaches system better than a black guy straight out of high school.

Not only that, but it is a rare thing for any player to come into the NBA and dominate right away. Steph Curry was drafted in 2009. He won the MVP in 2015.
