Using percentages as an example for teams that made the tournament when comparing a 15 team conference to a 10 team conference is stupidity. Is this the kind of shit they teach at ND?

What the fuck is so dumb about that? The conferences aren't created equal because they have a different amount of teams in them.

Getting 70% of the conference in the tournament is impressive. The ACC would have had to put 11 teams in the tournament to surpass that number.

It's DUMB to use that logic.

How did those 70% fare?

#3 seed Baylor was eliminated by a #14 seed in the first round.
#3 seed Iowa St was eliminated by a #14 seed in the first round.
Texas was eliminated in the first round.
Oklahoma St was eliminated in the first round.
Their highest seed #2 Kansas was eliminated in the field of 32.
Only two of that 70% even made it to the Sweet 16.
Of those two, West Virginia got CRUSHED 78-39.
NONE of that 70% made it to the Elite 8.

It was a down season for their flagship (Kansas) thus making everyone else look a bit better than they actually were.

note: 1st round means field of 64 not the stupid play in games.

Again, what is dumb about using that logic as it correlates to the strength of the league?

Conference A has 15 teams in it and it sends 6 teams to the tournament. Or 40% of the league.
Conference B has 10 teams in it and it sends 7 teams to the tournament. Or 70% of the league.

And I'm fully aware the Big 12 performed bad in the tournament. I tend to think in a one game scenario, that shouldn't hold as much weight. I mean the same exact thing happened the year before with the ACC. Duke lost in the first round, Syracuse lost in the 2nd round to an 11 seed, UVA lost in the S16 as a 1 seed, UNC lost in the second round. Pitt lost in the 2nd round. NC Statr lost in the 1st round.

The ACC is the better conference both historically AND in number of national brand teams.

It's just that simple, straw man.

Never said it wasn't. That's pretty obvious. Last year the Big 12 was better, however.

Do you see the words "Last Year" in the OP or the poll?

ND peeps have a difficult time with reading comprehension. :L

I also don't see "historically" or "all time" in the OP either. Its not my fault you left it open to interpretation.

Also, why ask the question, when the answer is pretty obvious(since you are apparently talking all time)?

LOL

Damn, you are a flaming moron.

The poll was made because a WVU fan says the ACC is not a better basketball conference than the Big 12. It's in post #3. However I can see how you missed that because ND peeps fail at reading comprehension.

If you are talking best conference you have to take top to bottom, best conference. Not most titles, not most NBA players from a couple teams at the top.

Wtf is your deal? I didn't read any of the other posts asshole. I can comprehend perfectly fine. You asked "which is the better basketball conference". I took it to mean in the present. Which was the previous season.

Sorry you wanna argue just for the sake of arguing.

Talk about not being able to comprehend. I literally said a couple posts back the big 12 had a bad tournament performance. And I said judging an entire seasons worth on one game is dumb. Just my opinion. So you can agree to disagree I don't care. You won't change my mind about that. And yes the ACC performed well this past tournament. Which makes up for the previous years one when they sent ONE team to the S16.

If someone wants to say the B12 was better last year then there is an argument ( I disagree but at least its a viable debate ), however the question was which is a better conference. Not which was a better conference last year. The former question implies in general. If youa re asking which league is generally better then its not the B12. Nor is it even close
