Here's your answer.... LOL

Just this past regular season the Big12 was rated the best conference in CBB and that was with KU being down a bit and Texas making a coaching change. ACC has a great basketball conference I don't argue that and they had a good tourney but it's not better than the Big12. This conference could add UConn, Cincy and Memphis in about 3 minutes and run far away from any conference in the country when it comes to basketball if we wanted to.

Ironically that post is in response to one of MY posts on the other thread... LOL. Guess I knew the answer to my own question already...

The B12 was a very good basketball conference last year and SOME people may even think it was the best. Thats not really the same as " Which conference is the best?" though. When people answer that they are thinking both currently and historically. In that regard the B12 isnt even better than the BE or P12

Big12 is 1 ACC is 2, BIG is 3, SEC is 4 and PAC 5 now but I would put a bullet by he SEC because imo they will take the 1 spot within 2 years.

For what it's worth there is a graph I saw that for the last 10 years the ACC and Big 12 are neck and neck on the number of teams making the NCAA tourney, so it's a push...

Big 12 doesn't do jack in March. Even Kansas hasn't done much recently. ACC is better. I'd put the convo as ACC vs Big Ten.

We all know the UCLA dynasty and history of NCAA Championships. In 1985 the NCAA expanded the field from 48 to 64 teams so I'll begin that as the modern era of NCAA's 31 Championships since Tournament expansion by conferences.

Pac 12- (2) UCLA-1995, Arizona-1997
Big West- (1) UNLV-1990
Big 12- (2) Kansas- 1988, 2008
Big 10 (3) Indiana-1987, Michigan-1989, Michigan State-2000
Big East (8) Villanova- 1985, Louisville-1986, 2013, Syracuse- 2003, UCONN-1999, 2004, 2011, 2014
SEC (6) Arkansas- 1994, Kentucky- 1996, 1998, 2012, Florida- 2006, 2007
ACC (9) Duke- 1991, 1992, 2001, 2010, 2015, UNC- 1993, 2005, 2009 Maryland- 2002

Obviously you don't because really the last 10 years it has been SEC dominated for the most part.
Nah. SEC has titles but they haven't ever been the best overall league. Titles are a part of it though. I'd put them 4th behind ACC, B10, B12

Sorry the 2002 NC game was an all- B1G affair. :noidea: And the ACC gets Cuse and Louisville.

How can you consider a conference great when one team owns it? Doesn't make sense.

Not at the time. Maryland was an ACC school in 2002. If that is the last NCAA Champion from the B1G then add all the Big East teams that are now ACC schools.

 That's how it works. The B1G network shows a bunch of Nebraska football games from back in the day so I'll take their word for it.

Does that mean the greatest running back ever in the ACC was Syracuse's Jim Brown? Nah, Ted Brown from NC State probably. Best QB was Sonny Jurgensen though.

Last year without question the Big 12 was the better conference. The ACC was slightly better at the top, and I mean slightly, but the depth of the Big 12 was way better. The Big 12 put 70% of it's teams in the tournament, compared to just 40% of the ACC. The fact that TWO 8-10 teams in the Big 12 made the tournament and a 10-8 ACC team didn't should tell you all you need to know about conference strength. The only reason this is being brought up is because of TWO results from last year; Baylor losing to Georgia State and Iowa State losing to UAB. Basing strength off of a one game scenario makes no sense to me.

Using percentages as an example for teams that made the tournament when comparing a 15 team conference to a 10 team conference is stupidity. Is this the kind of shit they teach at ND?

When it comes to college basketball history and # of national brand teams it's not even close.

ACC in a landslide.
