He's not HC material. It's fairly insulting that he's even being interviewed.

What's your point? Half the guys who already have head coaching jobs are not head coaching material, and many of them have been hired more than once.....Zim's no worse than any of those.....

I think anyone that hires Zimmer as a head coach will be lucky.

I don't know for sure if Zimmer will or won't be a good NFL Head Coach. but he's paid his dues and deserves a chance...

he seems smart and demands his players' respect.. i like his chances

I think he's gone...and I agree he deserves a chance, especially if guys like Mularkey and Crennel are on their second HC jobs....if that's all that's out there he definitely deserves a shot.....

Fins exluded him from their search because he came off as "too blunt, and too honest"

LOL

And this is why the Dolphins will suck for years to come. Who wants to hear what's really wrong with the organization/team and fix it?

Multiple teams have turned him down. They may just see him as a DC. Looking more and more like he will just be a DC.

Who are the multiple teams that have turned him down?

Cincy, where did you hear that was the reason he was turned down?

Zimmer wasn't hired by the first team who interviewed him, but that's almost always a part of the process. just the fact that his name is associated with coaching jobs bodes well for his chances of getting a job in the near future (next yr or two)

Thanks for providing the link, futball.

Mo Egger dedicated about a good 20+ minutes of that on his show the other day. That's where I heard it.

I don't see how a coach being "blunt" and "honest" can be a bad thing. Unless of course the GM/owner considers himself incompetent, then I could see how things might turn ugly for said GM/owner.

He's too blunt and honest to stay here then. If he doesn't get a HC job he'll be treated like shit until he leaves.

I don't know that many teams have "turned him down" but he has spoken to more than one team, and no momentum has been built in any of the cases. He interviews, then the team announces they're interviewing others. Yes, it's all part of the process, but it seems that nobody has been blown away by him.

Why do you think that is? A conspiracy? The guy is an average coordinator for a crappy organization.

No, I'm saying he's got about a 50/50 shot at getting a job. He doesn't seem to be creating much buzz. Maybe he's not a great interview.
