Ok, warning - this thread has no real value, just curiosity.

I wanted to know how many minutes on average were played after the winner scored more than the loser's final output. So, if a team won 110-90, when did the winner score the 91st point (or a bit over if it doesn't land on 91).

Anyway, going by the play-by-plays, 11,788 seconds were played after this point - so an average of 6 minutes and 8.375 seconds.

Biggest time was 18:44 of the Wizards game (win). Shortest was 14 seconds in a loss against the Bulls.

Carry on with your more meaningful minutes of the day.

And yes, I realize the game would go differently if the winner stopped scoring, as teams would adjust and pressure would change, etc.

Good thread. This seems similar to the NHL's "game winning goal" concept.

When is this thread going to be updated?

BEFORE the Sacramento Kings game tonight, we have played 14,854 seconds after the game's deciding score. That works out to be an average of 345 seconds per game. That is 5 minutes and 45 seconds of post-winning score play. I might be off by one game because I don't know what time I posted the December 20th post, but I presume that was before the game because I know I started it at work. Don't tell the boss.
