On Wisconsin
I don't think there will be time to get it organized for 2018, personally.
But it puts in a PAC 12 champion USC. And an SC/Oklahoma rematch is long over dueThe OP doesn't realize that the Committee would have place Wisconsin at #9 in an 8 team scenario.
It's what they do.
I think its become pretty clear they need organization. And a clear cut system. This year is a prime example.Where it was clear the best route. Was the 5 conference champions,Alabama,UCF and Wisconsin.I don't think there will be time to get it organized for 2018, personally.
You know a play off with 5 conference champions is necessary. When they take the meaning out of two conference championship games. And need a 3 hour show.To explain why the committee chose the play off teams. they did With pictures and sock puppetsI agree. For football, I think 8 is the magic number. You get all 5 power conference champions, with plenty of room for undefeateds from smaller conferences and impressive power 5 runner ups.
If you go 6, you might as well go 8. Nobody thinks a team like Penn State getting in is going to change things much. You know a play off with 5 conference champions is necessary. When they take the meaning out of two conference championship games. And need a 3 hour show.To explain why the committee chose the play off teams. they did With pictures and sock puppets
8 is the perfect number imo no lower than 6 tho. 4 just doesn't work
I agree 8 makes the most sense.I throw the 6in there fro the 8 is too many games to play angle.Although it can be done the FCS does it.Its pretty bad when little brother has a higher quality system than big brother Im all for P5 outbid.I know some people are afraid of the extra competition etc..But expanding to arrive at the best possible product is just plain logic. If you go 6, you might as well go 8. Nobody thinks a team like Penn State getting in is going to change things much.
And you’re preaching to the choir. It’s a different sport, but in basketball, I’m an Illinois State fan. It seems like every year they get snubbed after losing the conference title game, while teams with losing conference records get in. With only 4 teams allowed in, you have at least 1 team feeling snubbed. If you want to get in, win a power five conference or go undefeated against a better than pathetic schedule. With 8 teams, almost every DI team in the nation has a shot to play in the title game.
