Tulane is a good academic school, in the heart of Nawlins. I mean who wouldn't want to take a road trip there? Also it would crack the walnut that is LSU in that state. Think they want to see UT or ou make yearly trips in Nawlins? They blocked all the satellite camps just because they didn't like UT sniffing in it's backyard. I'm not saying Tulane will be a powerhouse but with the right coach, they can be pretty good/ decent. Mack had them doing well back in the late 80's, early 90's.
Arkansas has always been an outcast in the SEC, it's recruiting would pick up in the Big 12 imo. There's a lot of hog fans in the DFW area and in oklahoma. Just feel it would be a good fit

Like hell they wouldn’t. The thought of an OU Texas conference champ game would make bowlsbyuy and others wet their pants. 0% chance they are in the same division.
didnt that happen like 2 years ago

Yep just once since they started the ten team CCG. My point was that if they got two more northern schools, they wouldn't have a problem in keeping them in the same division. However if they headed out West they probably would be split.

Yeah, of the 3 B12 conference champ games guess which had the highest viewership of the 3....
Same school that probably can go wherever it wants to, but hopefully decides to keep this current conference alive.

Exactly, I have no illusions it’s not Texas. Truthfully if the B12 would go to 12 I’d expect Texas and OU to be in separate divisions. Now 14, they are definitely in the same division because that means the B12 added atleast one heavy hitter. (Usc)

If it's the AZ schools or SoCal schools (or both) yeah most likely they will be in separate divisions. But it would cement them as being a viable long-term power conference.

Wise move to schedule Arizona instead of trashy UW. Much better talent in Tucson.

I remember a game I attended when Washington visited Alabama in the 1970's. The Huskies cheerleaders were the best-looking of all the visiting teams that I had seen the Tide play back in those days. A lot of Polynesian beauties in that bunch - and they were friendly & flirty, too!

That would have been the Washington team with Warren Moon at QB and Spyder Gaines at WR. I listened to that game on the radio out in the barn .. it was a heart breaker.

The 1975-78 Alabama-Washington Series was fun:

1975: Alabama 52 Washington 00 @ Tuscaloosa
1978: Alabama 20 Washington 17 @ Seattle

I listened to both games on the radio.

I thought a game had to be close to be considered a "heart breaker." The game I was referring to was in Denny Stadium in 1975 (it wouldn't be re-named Bryant-Denny until 1976). The score was 52-0.

A few years later they played in Washington & Bama pulled it out, 20-17.

1975: Alabama 52 Washington 00 @ Tuscaloosa
1978: Alabama 20 Washington 17 @ Seattle

I listened to both games on the radio.

That 1975 team started off the season with a 20-7 loss to Missouri in a Monday night game at Legion Field. The Tigers scored all their points in the first half. Alabama was really unprepared for that game, and it showed.

After a 9-day lay-off, they ran though the rest of their schedule like a juggernaut, and only allowing more than 7 points twice - in a 21-10 win against Mississippi St. in Jackson, MS, & a 23-10 win at LSU. Eight teams - including Penn St. in the Sugar Bowl - failed to score against Alabama in the first half that season.

The Tide's other non-conference wins that year were 56-0 vs Clemson & 45-0 vs TCU.

Which conference wants to line up to take a school who’s best sport is fastpitch and crew? Sure would generate lots of money for that conference.
The B1G took Rutgers! :noidea:

Ratz! Your teams style of play doesn't reflect your team's states politics.

I've been thinking that political leaning and state population has some influence on the type of play your team employs. Also a conservative fanbase vs a liberal fanbase, but ultimately it's based on the best recruiter and coach you can acquire.

No chance they don’t split them this time. Although Washington is a nice name it has no where near the prestige or tradition Nebraska did with both those two. They’d definitely split OU and Texas up this time. I have zero doubts about that. The one that would get screwed a bit in this would be okie Jr and not playing Texas yearly.
Leaders and legends?

I know I give you shit man, but for WVU best interests, they need to be aggressive and grab 4 schools, maybe 6 in order to give schools like WV, KSU, Baylor and Iowa St stability. I know the travel from Morgantown to LA is rough, hell even a trip to Tucson but I'm sure it can be worked out coming off a bye or having a bye right after. Maybe have a neutral site game in Jerry's world.. ?
IMO every school not named Texas or Oklahoma are always on unstable ground. Texas and Oklahoma are really the only two schools that are attractive to any other conference whatsoever. (Maybe Kansas because of hoops/academics). Again, JMO.

yes but if they can grab the AZ and SoCal schools, one would think that the conference would be on much stronger footing, no?
