I think the obvious answer these days has to be fullback. Many offenses have moved to a predominately 3 WR set as their base formation on offense.

I say take out FB and QB from the list. FB is going to be overwhelmingly popular pick and QB is most important unless you are the Browns or Jets.
A FB is an important piece in a run first team. Granted, there aren't many run first teams.

Well, 12 votes for fullback so far, but I will disagree and say HB is the least important. The NFL is a passing league nowadays and I'd much rather have a stout FB that can consistently help protect the QB and occasionally get 4 yards or catch the ball out in the flat to move the chains thana high priced RB.

Went with HB also since they seem to be throw away at the age of 30. Granted the few "stars", ala Bell make an offense much better but outside those few they are very interchangeable. Except the Packers they proved that something more than a warm fat body is needed.

God damn it, everyone knows it's the kicker, it should be kicker, then potato salad with bacon for this poll and this poll should be closed when the kickers has 100 votes!

Silly. That's like asking which beer in my fridge is most important.

Any easily exposed weakness means the end of offensive production.

Yeah, that's true, but if you have a good blocking TE, you can get away without having a FB.

I realize FB has made a bit of a comeback but it's by far the most useless position.

does that include center

C may not need to be the best OL of the 5, but imo they can't be the weak link either...in '15 ATL had two emerging OTs, a poor C, and two so-so OGs...the OL struggled badly.

They replaced the poor C with a pro bowl player...all other starters remained...the OL performance swung 180 degrees to the better. The C makes the OL calls, keeps the unit together on audibles, in addition to blocking.

As Steeler fans we have endured a lot of time with Pouncey being out with reasonable success, but in terms of being able to get to the 2nd level, and the OL being better with him than w/o him...no question they are better with him.

My pick like most was FB.

Yeah, but you still need an inside run threat to keep the DL and LBs from stunting all over the place and sacking the shit out of the QB.

Easily fullback in this league. Most teams are not running fullbacks at all on their roster. Some runningbacks do better behind a good blocking fullback but few teams are willing to invest in the position let alone take another WR/TE off the field to do so.

Clearly FB on this list. But RB is not far behind. WR is also low-key unimportant with a quality offensive coach, imo.
