Batman: Year One: 4/5 stars. Written (but not penned) by Frank Miller, who also did the (in my opinion) horrendous Dark Knight Returns. This was an origin story, and I really, really enjoyed it. Check it out if you haven't already.

Just int he post 52 world she was dating Superman until he fucking exploded.

Year One is great, and I agree about DKR, I thought it sucked.

Batman (2016-) #1: 3.5/5 stars. Good build up. I am reading every issue of the Rebirth Batman's in order, not going to wait for them all to be released in the first volume. That's the respect I have for Snyder. I got the first one off Comixology for $2.99. After the Birds game, I'm going to my comic book store to pick up the next six ones.

Anyone else started/read this series?

I havne't been able to get into rebirth.

I see it as a HUGE cop out after both 52s, and Flashpoint after crisis.

This is like the 4th reset they've done in 30 years.

I am actually going to hold off on getting those issues to buy Batman (2011) Vol. 9- Bloom. I'm so pumped. Have you read it?

Batman Vol.9: Bloom 2.5/5 stars. After an amazing fucking run from volumes 1-7, Scott Snyder fell of in Volume 8: Superheavy, and just barely got it together for Volume 9. You could tell he was running out of new ideas. The villain wasn't given very much motive or backstory at all, and while the dynamic of Bruce Wayne vs. Batman was interesting, Jim Gordon's role was kind of shunned.

Still, Volumes 1-7 were fucking legendary, and I kind of wished they stopped there, although I did look forward to buying the two subsequent volumes right when they came out. Now I'm on to Rebirth. I'll be rating each comic individually, which might be tedious (and boring to you guys), but since they are not collected yet (the eighth print has yet to be released) I feel it only fair.

Both I'd say. I'm too lazy to look up actual sales numbers, but comic books will always have their niche audience, however esoteric they may be

I just think given the popularity of electronics they may fall out of favor with younger people, at least hardcover comics; if they stay around they'll probably be moved to some digital format.

That's already happening. There are still a lot of die hards that will only buy floppies, trades or hardcovers, either because they are collectors or just like to read the actual books.

How do you feel about audible comic books? I don't mind them, but I'll always prefer a paperback or an actual hardcover. One of the most fun and nostalgic thing about reading comic books from the early 2000's, when I first started reading paperbacks (albeit in small quantities) is seeing the PS1 and Nintendo 64 ads. Fucking awesome
