Our SB used to be two, but we cut it down because they were ending up too high. I find it better this way....because really, how much better should Hamilton be than Ozuna? Not much, IMO.

2 is too high in your format... But i do think 1.5 is too low...

You can't penalize outs. Not getting anything is penalty enough. You start taking points away for two-thirds (at least) of a batters appearances, then it's WAY out of whack.

I just think 2 SB should be worth more than one HR, but in your league there is no distinction between a Hit and a HR(its not counted twice), so a HR is really worth 3 points... so 2 SB should be slightly over 3 points...

The way it is, a good week for a good hitter is in the 20's. A good start for a good pitcher is in the 20's. Great? 30's. Bad? Single digits, sometimes negative for either hitters or pitchers.

But as your system is PA is such a big thing... you can be a .250 hitter but have more ABs than anyone else and you have an advantage...

A solo shot is 6 points. Two singles and two SB is five. What's the problem?

I would do -.25 for all outs, and then an extra -.25 for SOs... Keep DP as is...

Then every batter is losing points everyday. You are over thinking it. A ZERO sucks. So 0-22 for the week is ugly enough looking at nothing.

I just don't like that a .250 hitter who has 175 hits is equal to a .300 hitter who has 175 hits...

by making it -.25 per out then a player must be a .200 hitter to break even... SOs are a separate penalty...

You can flip that too though. A .300 hitter with 75 hits shouldn't be better than a .250 hitter with 175 hits. That's just too much negative, IMO. Imagine being tied on Friday night watching the Padres game (we go Sat-Fri). Two outs, bottom of the ninth, Justin Upton mashes a liner to left-center, when out of nowhere Joc Pederson leaps and makes a ridiculous catch. You think the Upton owner deserves to lose that week because of a great defensive play? No way! I'll take the tie and be cursing Joc enough

That's BA though, in H2H categories, if me and you are currently tied in BA or even OBP and that play happens, then you are going to lose... How is that any different??

True. Just another reason to prefer points.

But 13 hitters, who will all get out at least 16 times per week, leaving you losing 52 points every week on the low end. There is no way to counter that.

except that the other team will do the same so you don't need to counter... it will just be including the BA also... I thought the whole reason you guys like points so much is because it includes everything... Your league omitted one of the most major parts of baseball...

True...except, BA is a cumulative over the week and it's incorporated with everyone else. ...Upton getting out is not.

We're not omitting anything. Zero is a number too. You go 0-4 with no strikeouts, hit the ball well, just right at people, you shouldn't get a negative.

i guess here we would agree to disagree... and i am not trying to change your league or trying to say anything negative about your league... That was not my goal here, so i hope your not taking it that way...
