I have always loved roto best because it demands for balance and I think it is the best league to draft for... The problem with Roto, is that the in season play is the least fun compared to H2H... I want to find a way to bring the balance into H2H to find the perfect compromise... And I think I have figured out how...

Instead of drafting by positions we draft by statistic... so instead of NEEDING a catcher you need a stolen base artist...
Lineup
3 SB- Player slotted here must be projected for or currently on pace for 20 SBs or more
3 HR- Player slotted here must be projected for or currently on pace for 25 HRs or more
2 BA- Player slotted here must be projected for or currently have a BA over .290
2 BB- Player slotted here must be projected for or currently on pace for over 60 walks
2 SO- Player slotted here must be projected for or currently on pace for less than 90 SOs

Pitching

1 ERA- players slotted here must be projected for or currently having an ERA of 3.2 or less for the current season
3 IP- players slotted here must be projected for or currently on pace for 200 innings or more
1 WHIP- players slotted here must be projected for or currently averaging a 1.2 WHIP or less
2 BB- players slotted here must be projected for or currently averaging 2 walks per 9 innings or less
2 K- players slotted here must be projected for or currently averaging 7 SO per 9 innings or more

It will be a standard 5X5 H2H categories (BA,HR,RBI,SB,Runs AND Ks,SAVES,ERA,WHIP,Wins)

12 offense( can be any position), 9 Pitchers, 3 Bench(any position)

I know nobody here will join this league, just want to know what people think about this...

Totally don't get it. Doesn't that take away the sleeper? If Semien is projected for 15-10, but you think he's good for 2015-20, you can't draft him because he isn't projected highly enough?

I don't see the point here. Are you trying to avoid the punter?

Your right this has trouble including the sleepers... Need to find a way to get sleepers included...

It is not just to avoid the punter... My biggest problem with H2H categories is that it is not about how Strong your team is it is about being stronger than your opponent in more categories... Sometimes in H2H being Balanced is a BAD thing, and I just don't like that...

Fixed it to allow for offensive sleepers... There was no reason for 3 HR guys since HR and RBIs are a scoring category...

That's why I think H2H categories is the least appealing league for FBB. Balance can leave you nowhere.

But isn't H2H points even worse for that... there balance is not even a worry, it is all about points and the points are dependent on the scoring format...

I still have not seen a points format that has found the point structure right... I think it is a shame how HR dependent points are... Then again categories are pretty HR dependent too...

My opinion is that you have an uncanny knack for finding whacky ways of trying to fix things that to 99.9% of people, aren't broken. I really don't see the problem you do, and I think your proposed solution creates more issues than it would"fix".

I am not looking to revolutionize fantasy sports... I do think there are flaws with it... Most of us just don't care because fantasy sports are so much fun and the flaws although they are flaws do not affect anything too much...

This league idea, it is not only to fix what i think is a problem with both Rotisserie and H2H leagues, but it is also a totally new way to look at a fantasy league... Problem for this league that i am proposing is that there would be no site equipped for it, so it would have to be a manual league, which i am just not going to do... But I do think drafting by specific statistics instead of positional restrictions would be a very fun way to do a fantasy league...

My points league is great. HR are certainly not dependant. Billy Hamilton was equal to Marcel Ozuna last year. Trout and Kershaw were equals.

Easily the best way to go.

In my preferences, i don't like your offensive points metrics at all... Wouldn't stop me from playing in your league, but its not the way i would set it up...

Your pitching i like more than your offense, but still don't love it...

Also we don't use SPaRP's. Our RP slot (two) must be closers.

It's 15 teams. Seven bench spots. Start 5 arms. So the streaming 2-starters thing doesn't really work.

We start 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, MI, CI, 4 OF, UT (multi-position eligibility...which stops an owner from having three big 1B (for example), C, DH (or 2nd C...DH must be real...20 games played prior season, 10 to gain eligibility in season)

no penalization for an out, besides SO and DP... That's my biggest problem...

I like your offense more than most, i originally didn't like it because 2 SB was still less than a HR, but then i saw that you don't reward for a HIT... you go directly to the type of hit... So i like that... I still would give a SB slightly higher value, probably 1.75 just so 2 SB is more than 3 points... I would also probably make SO -.25 and not -.5, but those are small things...

Overall i like yours more than most i have seen, but still think there is some improvement needed...

Stats can be manipulated no matter how you slice it. Points are to fantasy like players are to their teams. Individualized. A bad start can be evened out by extra RP good outings. And a bad RP outing can kill your WHIP and leave you toast.

Our SB used to be two, but we cut it down because they were ending up too high. I find it better this way....because really, how much better should Hamilton be than Ozuna? Not much, IMO.

My problem is not with statistics i love stats... My problem is when a specific format gives a specific strategy an advantage... strategies should only work if they are handled correctly, they should not work because of the format...
