Yeah -- VT getting seriously fucked on this schedule stuff .. If we keep winning though, I can see the Maryland and Miami games being later, maybe even prime-time, depending on the other games that week.

Media contract pays our bills. We play a brand of football that most people (including us at times) hate. It's like watching a "Saw" movie. It's torture, and just when the opponent appears to make it out alive, Bud Foster just stands up and says "game over." And you know it's coming again and again after years of this. It's almost like we're trolling other teams at this point. It's not really hard to understand why casual fans wouldn't find that fun to watch in our current football climate.

we put on one tailgate that my roommates and I were up scrambling hundreds of eggs at 6am, taking shots of Evan Williams while doing so, had the tailgate up and going by 8, serving breakfast and lunch....oddly I don't remember who we played, or much of that game for that matter...

Other "big" games going on the same Saturday we play Miami include LSU-Bama and Nebraska-Michigan...that is about it. No reason our game can't get a primetime spot.

Same weekend we host Maryland there is Stanford-USC, Georgia-Auburn, Florida-S.Carolina, Michigan-NW, TexasTech-Baylor, OklahomaSt-Texas. If VT and Maryland are both ranked in top 20, then there is a chance for a night game.

I'm not sure I should as I think I've only seen us beat Pitt live once... and Mike Vick got hurt and fucked our 2000 season in the process, so I don't consider that a real "win".

We're going to need another good offensive effort this week. Defense is going to have to continue to play smart and physical. I have no clue what to expect (Pitt vs Duke or Pitt vs UVa) from them, but it's time to reverse the wrongs in this series.

I think that may help VT, actually. 2 more games to learn the new offensive system, get young players experience, for coaches to learn what works with this group of guys, etc.
