The initial call was a run play. Then spike it quick to setup a FG. Rose has shown he has a huge leg. He was in a dome. A 52 yard FG should be made. We didn't even get an attempt. The play call should of been a 5 yard OUT route. Of course it wasn't b/c that is too simple. I think there was 20 seconds left when we were 1st and 10 at the 35. The game should of been left up to Rose. That was bush league Shark. The Cousins lovers will never admit this one. I don't hate KC but these huge miscues cots us games.
That play cost us the game???? Really??? Are you that dense?

True, but when being setup for a GW Fg and not even getting attempt that is pretty bad.

So again with the side ways complaint.

Well it wasnt Cousins or Grudens fault we lost... but if they had only come through in crunch time.. we would have won... so actually we lost because of them again.

a lot of things contributed to the loss. but that sceniro at the 35 yard line 1st and 10 is inexcusable. We are supposed to have a 'franchise" Qb right? A veteran head coach, Right? You guys not even commenting on this speaks volumes.

What part dont you get?? Even the coach said, he saw something and signaled to Cousins to run the bubble screen. Apparently the WR didnt catch that and ran the shallow crossing route that was initially in the play. At no time was a run play called because get this... you run in that situation it eats up clock time. You run quick underneath or out routes because they take up LESS time and if its incomplete the clock stops.

Can you imagine Dean's response if we would have run in that play and get stuffed and run a bunch of time off the clock? He would be crowing about how stupid a call it was and some how blame KC because he didn't audible out of it. That, unfortunately, is Dean's logic.

I will comment, the coach made the RIGHT call, the QB ran the cal the coach made, and the WR ran the wrong route because he did not see the play change..

If Crowder makes the play change at worst he missed the ball, we still kick it from the 35. As the Saints were in an all out blitz package, if Crowder catches that pass, he is either running out at the 10 yard line with 5 seconds left, or its a walk off TD.

So it was a miscommunication, and it cost us a chance to kick the game winning field goal. A field goal that would never have been needed if the defense didnt go into bend over and take it mode with 5 minute on the clock... as usual.

Grudens press conference he said he had a run called. Then after the huddle broke Gruden wanted to swtich to a bubble screen. That pass from KC was not a pass for a bubble screen. He saw no WR in sight and he still airmailed it out of bounce. Then Gruden has the BALLS to say I don't know why is was an intentional grounding call. KC has the BALLS to say I wasn't sure if it would be intentional grounding. That play was the definition of intentional grounding.

So ask you self this. Why was a run play called out of the huddle? Why does Gruden want to change the play when it was too late to do so in a critical situation? Why is KC throwing to no one and risking a huge penalty?

Dean, on that play, was KC in danger of being sacked imminently when he released the throw?

Here is the definition of intentional grounding:

Intentional Grounding of Forward Pass
  1. Intentional grounding of a forward pass is a foul: loss of down and 10 yards from previous spot if passer is in the field of play or loss of down at the spot of the foul if it occurs more than 10 yards behind the line or safety if passer is in his own end zone when ball is released.
  2. Intentional grounding will be called when a passer, facing an imminent loss of yardage due to pressure from the defense, throws a forward pass without a realistic chance of completion.
  3. Intentional grounding will not be called when a passer, while out of the pocket and facing an imminent loss of yardage, throws a pass that lands at or beyond the line of scrimmage, even if no offensive player(s) have a realistic chance to catch the ball (including if the ball lands out of bounds over the sideline or end line).
Does anyone think that KC was in imminent danger of loss of yardage when he threw that pass? This is why Gruden questions the penalty. Basically, that pass was no more intentional grounding than a spike pass to stop the clock.

Funny that it doesn't mention the 10 second runoff part in there

Now notice the time on the clock, the coverage which i have circled, and the spot where the ball went which is where the noted WR was supposed to be.

As i said at worst the pass goes incomplete, and its 2nd down with 25 seconds on the clock.

At best Crowder catches it with a blocker in front of him and maybe one other guy to beat.

So beat the drum, blame Cousins and Gruden to your hearts content. Reality is, the WR ran the wrong route on a timing play.

Thank you for this post b/c its just proves you are wrong about KC being rushed and had to get rid of the ball. It proves that KC just threw it to a spot with no WR there. He could take it down and go somewhere elsse with the ball? THERE WAS PLENTY OF TIME!!! NO RUSH WHATS SO EVER!!! Bush league.

What facts? Shark said KC was being heavily rushed. He wasn't. KC threw a ball to know one. He should of taken that ball down.

Do you just read the screen and shit morphs into what you wish it would say.

BUbble screen. Timing play.

When have you EVER known a screen to be anything other than a timing play.

Snap the ball, turn and throw to a spot, where the WR is supposed to be.
