As is tradition at the end of every season, let’s get weird and predict wayyy too early what’s going to happen next season. I’m first...

// Sat, Aug 31 //
vs. South Alabama - W

// Sat, Sep 7 //
at Colorado - W

// Sat, Sep 14 //
vs. Northern Illinois - W

// Sat, Sep 21 //
at Illinois - W (close though)

// Sat, Sep 28 //
vs. Ohio State - L

// Sat, Oct 5 //
vs. Northwestern - W

// Sat, Oct 12 //
at Minnesota - L

// Sat, Oct 26 //
vs. Indiana - W

// Sat, Nov 2 //
at Purdue - W (blowout)

// Sat, Nov 16 //
vs. Wisconsin - W

// Sat, Nov 23 //
at Maryland - W (Close)

// Fri, Nov 29 //
vs. Iowa - W

That’s right. 10-2, I’m calling it now.

What say you?!

I think tOSU is the only team that doesn't lose a lot of key players.
If there is more depth developed in the wr group things could get real fun. But there is a serious need for someone who can play the slot when JD gets banged up. This offense needs players who can take the top off of defenses. Without that, it's safeties up close and tough sledding between the tackles.

This schedule sets up nicely for Nebraska.

// Sat, Aug 31 //
vs. South Alabama - W

// Sat, Sep 7 //
at Colorado - W will have a new coaching staff

// Sat, Sep 14 //
vs. Northern Illinois - W

// Sat, Sep 21 //
at Illinois - W will have a new coaching staff

// Sat, Sep 28 //
vs. Ohio State - L still cannot compete with them. Definitely will be some new asst coaches. Maybe a new head coach.

// Sat, Oct 5 //
vs. Northwestern - W lose Clayton Thorson. Overall, not that dangerous of a team.

// Sat, Oct 12 //
at Minnesota - W Fleck is losing his mojo.

// Sat, Oct 26 //
vs. Indiana - W
I have to admit, I know little about Indiana.

// Sat, Nov 2 //
at Purdue - W Brohm and Blough both are gone

// Sat, Nov 16 //
vs. Wisconsin - L new QB but Jonathon Taylor will still be there. Same ol same ol with Wisconsin

// Sat, Nov 23 //
at Maryland - W another new coaching staff

// Fri, Nov 29 //
vs. Iowa - W Nate Stanley is gone, wasn't that good anyway. Nebraska still could not beat him,

Best Case 10-2, is possible.
Worst Case 7-5.

My too soon prediction is 8-4.

Four teams with new coaching staffs. Ohio State being an unknown. Ohio State could pull a Luke Fickell type of year.

I'd go 9-3, Losses to OSU, Wiscy, and Purdue if Brohm stays. If Brohm goes, then I'd go 10-2.

Morgan is biggest losses on O. I think Farmer, Foster, and Oz can be replaced fairly easily.

D - do we lose that much? Gifford but Domann is good replacement. Young? But even though guys said he knew the D the best, he seemed to missed filling holes the most and I'd think we could find someone to replace. Big Mick, but again, I think we have replacements with the way the DL rotated throughout the year. Safety is a problem with Neal, Reed, and A Williams being done. I think D Williams and Dismuke r the early favorites to start right? Going to be the early weakness on D, that and they need to get better against the run, but hoping Duval can help with that.

// Sat, Aug 31 //
vs. South Alabama - W

// Sat, Sep 7 //
at Colorado - W
They’re going to put up some points Shanault returns and most of thier skill positions, they were rolling until he got injured

// Sat, Sep 14 //
vs. Northern Illinois - W Another good team, their playing for the MAC CC this Friday, wouldn’t surprise me if they took us to task on defense I’m 50/50 here

// Sat, Sep 21 //
at Illinois - W (not close)
Bush is done, the end

// Sat, Sep 28 //
vs. Ohio State - L
Not even close yet, Haskins first year also, anyone they get at wr coach will be a huge upgrade

// Sat, Oct 5 //
vs. Northwestern - L
Yes Thorson is gone, but in comes the #1 rated QB in the country via Clemson transfer Johnson, so upgrade but not a dual threat type qb tho

// Sat, Oct 12 //
at Minnesota - W close game, they’re really young this year

// Sat, Oct 26 //
vs. Indiana - W

// Sat, Nov 2 //
at Purdue - W (blowout)
Their really going to miss Blough

// Sat, Nov 16 //
vs. Wisconsin - L
Not there yet, right now, by the time this game comes around things may be different, was a down year for the Badgers defense losing Cinchy was huge

// Sat, Nov 23 //
at Maryland - W
Shouldn’t be close

// Fri, Nov 29 //
vs. Iowa - L
Same as Wisconsin

Until we get better on the DL we’re going to suffer the same results on Defense, we lose pretty much all of our Safeties and our second leading tackler at LB. I don’t see anyone coming in that is going to be an immediate impact player unless we hit a homerun with multiple Juco’s
Duvall is going to earn that paycheck but it’s not a one or even two year fix
Our offense should improve 2 fold but we still have no outside receiver to replace Morgan

8-4

Might win or lose one we shouldn’t 7-5 is my bottom floor 9-3 at the top which would easily be good enough to win our division, both iowa and Wisconsin have a much tougher schedule than ours so the big x east may help get us into the west CCG
