I'm sure he's a swell feller IRL, but when you have a lame ass rule named after you, you bring the criticism on yourself.

Too bad they didn't ban third basemen from snagging a grounder down the line and jumping into foul territory to throw to first. That's how Chipper tore his ACL in what we feared could be a career ender considering his age(it was arguably the best defensive play Chipper made in his entire career too)

Star players get hurt sometimes. Don't make knee jerk rule changes because of it.

Can’t argue with any of your comments on the Umps. I don’t have an opinion on Rizzo personally, though. I don’t think the play was malicious or over zealous, it was simply outside the rules as they exist right now.

Rizzo has instigated a few sessions. I doubt it was malicious but it was a part of the game that doesn't need to continue.

I am I now full agreement. But if you are raised to play the game a certain way, it is hard to change your mindset. Especially when the new rules are still in their infancy.
