According to Mel Kiper, Larry Warford is currently the no.3 overall best rookie from the 2013 class, going as far as to call him a "top 15 G in the NFL right now". Ansah is 6th on his list FYI.

Considering he was a 3rd rounder, that's some mighty high praise. In a week when we've (I've) been hammering our draft mid to late round choices, this is nice to see.

:agree:

Although I keep banging on Fauria as the best rookie and he was a UFA. I am looking more at future contribution beginning later this year.

It's a long season for rookies especially O-Linemen that are big. So it would not surprise me if his play tails off later in the season!

What Martin didn't make the list!

I really want Fauria to work out.......That's like having a bust for a 2nd rounder go unnoticed because a UFA made the team contributes and becomes a staple to the TE posistion.....Two TDs in 3 weeks.....Granted the yards and Recptions arn't there but it's obvious he could become a target/threat real fast that defenses have to contend with.

I like Waddle as well but I think he doesn't see any minutes this season. He would have been practice squad if the Lions thought he would not be claimed.

The Honey Badger was the steal of the draft :)

Warford was a great pick up for you guys though... I thought he'd go a little higher than he did.

I have a question about Fauria......Why did he go undrafted by 32 teams for 7 rounds? Yet he has 2 TDs in three weeks.....

Hell you draft 1st or 2nd round players that don't produce that......Even with that said he's probably 3 on the depth chart for TEs in Detroit if you put Scheff and Pettigrew ahead of him.....Are teams that secure at the TE posistion that Fauria wasn't drafted?

muzzer,

regarding Fauria -- i think he is sort of a tweener TE. he isn't good at blocking and he isn't a TE that is going to stretch the field for you (he runs in the 4.7 to 4.8 range)

what he is though, is a great red zone target because of his size. i'd say that is the reason he wasn't drafted -- if he was faster or if he could be used as a blocker, his value would have been much higher.

Who the hell knows? Why was Tom Brady a 6th?

IMO when a guy starts to fall their is a collective WTF around war rooms and everyone thinks everyone else knows something. But I definitely remember Fauria and Waddle had draft grades that had them being drafted.

Just goes to show the so called experts are only moderately better than us uneducated fans..

Fauria and Waddle stick..DaRick Rogers gets cut.

Rambo a decent safety prospect looks to be a disaster in washington.

He very well could be. But short number 2 CBs with a history of off field behavior have a longer wait and see periods. Not trying to put him down as I did hope the Lions would have taken him but I would still be leery for awhile.

I'm waiting for Honey Badger to implode. We learned our lesson with Titus Young.
