I had a buddy who bought the Samsung headset with his phone. It was pretty cool to play with a couple times, he used to just pass it around and everyone would look at the same one or two little apps/videos he had. I haven't seen it at work for at least 9 months now, and nobody has asked him to bring it.

Maybe he still plays with it at home. Maybe not. But on phones at least I got the impression it was a cool novelty.

The expensive ones for video games look like they could be an evolutionary leap though. Still the coolness without just novelty, plus an actual purpose.

I don't think iPhones have VR equipment for it.

Considering some are $700 already I wonder how much Apple would want for a VR headset.

I bought a Pixel and received a free Daydream (Google's new VR headset). I don't really know if it will become popular yet because there are hardly any apps and games I would want to use. I'm not going to watch Netflix with those things on when I could just chill on the couch and not have to wear a goofy headset.

I got a little handset from a Secret Santa exchange on Sunday and played with it a little. It was interesting, but I have a feeling it will destroy your battery if you use it too much. Definitely a gimmick, but it is still kind of cool and fun to play around with.

I bought a google cardboard for like $8 to see how that compares. I will let you know.
