Miami seems to be able to beat just about anyone (MSU, Duke)... or lose to just about anyone (Florida Gulf Coast, Indiana St, Wake). Let's carry this forward and pull the upset!

What is it with the Larkin-for-ACC-POY talk? Could anyone legitimately vote for Larkin over EG or Plumlee?

Honestly, no one has done nearly as much as EG, especially in ACC play. It will be interesting to see how much VT's record impacts the vote. Green is at the top of the list in nearly every statistical category.

imagine how many assists/game Green would have if the rest of the team could hit their shots

Seriously. And the only other stats where Larkin shows better than EG are steals (keeping in mind that EG has a better assist/TO ratio, I wouldn't put too much weight on that), FG% (19th vs. 21st, essentially identical with EG taking way more shots) and 3Pt% (9th vs. 19th). EG's 3Pt numbers are still good, with less help from his teammates in getting good looks and on more worn-out legs. I'm not even sure I'd put Larkin on the ACC 1st team (EG at the point, Joe Harris at SG, Reggie Bullock on the wing, Plumlee and Alex Len inside).

I can sort of see the Plumlee for POY talk. He's the best player on the best team (considered way more significant than it should be) and he's in the top 2 statistically (which is a way bigger deal) in points, FG%, and rebounding. But I just can't fathom why people want to include Larkin in the discussion. Having a very good year, and deserving of at least 2nd team All-ACC, but not POY.

Who's ready for a beatdown tonight? Could get pretty bad. But if you believe in miracles and want vcash, a VT moneyline bet is *14.

i put my bet in...you never know :D

i maen miami did lose to wake...and we only lost by 9 last time, after controlling much of the game....it all depends if the guys can give Green a hand

i would like our chances better if miami wasnt coming off its first acc loss though, if they were sitting at 14-0 with Duke up next after us, there would be a good shot theyd be just looking past us. after losing this past weekend, i dont think thatll be the case

Larkin is getting a mention because without him, Miami would not be where they are. Just like you, I don't feel like he is worthy of the POY, but it is what it is. As for EG, his numbers are certainly worthy of POY, but the team's record will ruin his chances. You all might as well just give up on the hope that EG will win it, as Plumlee is pretty much guaranteed to win it being that he plays for a team in the Triangle.

Just saw this that for Senior Day (Saturday), they want everyone to wear something green in support of Green. That's a pretty neat sendoff gesture. Hopefully its packed because he definitely deserves it the way he busted his ass for us this year

Good news is Robert Brown has gotten back some of his touch and confidence.Barnacles has been draining the 15footer all year. I would like to see more pick and pop with Birkdale.too bad we suck balls at d still.

I would like to see more touches for Barksdale on the pick and pop. He's automatic with the 15 foot jumper

definitely seen Barksdale turn a corner here in these last few games, its been refreshing in an otherwise dreadful season (aside from Green's performance)

I choose to be more optimistic for next year than some VT fans appear to be. I don't expect us to be awesome, but Barksdale is looking better, I expect better from Eddie and Brown, we'll have so much more depth, etc. No more Wood getting pushed around in the post, he can move to the wing. We will miss EG terribly, but on the other hand guys won't just look to him anymore... they're going to have to step up themselves. Here's hoping.
