I am a little confused that we did not offer typical enrollment if this guy was slotted to possibly play DE in our system?? All the talk has been about the misses we have had at that position. He must have been more if a LB or a real project.

Unfortunate that this happened. Can't blame the kid for not wanting to wait. Good luck to him.

Good luck to him at Marshall, but I don't think that piece tells the entire story. I know some people at one of his previous schools (one that he was not allowed back to for various reasons) and he definitely has at least some disciplinary and academic issues.

I see no advantage in speculating in that direction, short of any actual facts. Or even with some.

Tim Settle on January 2nd
Lawrence Cager on January 3rd

Gonna be really interesting to watch how this class ends up

Quite an interesting free article with info on Lawrence Cager:

"What once seemed like an Alabama, Notre Dame, Ohio State battle for Towson (Md.) Calvert Hall Top247 receiver Lawrence Cager is now more likely a Virginia Tech-Wake Forest deal heading into this decision. Cager is the nation’s No. 17 receiver according to 247Sports."

This is the same guy who wrote what I quoted in my last post. Note that he now thinks Miami leads, but didn't even mention them in the article a few days ago. Lmao.

Da U already has a couple WR's committed and it doesn't look like Cager has taken a visit to Miami.
In Moorehead we trust.

Well I don't know the story or what the kid is like, but from my general observations, Cager's recruitment has been all over the place the last couple months. Seems like he might like the spotlight or at the very least indecisive?? I ghink he has missed the boat with a few schools. Guy has been predicted to probably 10 different schools in the last month ranging from Alabama to Wake Forest. I hope we get him. He has some elite size that that we haven't had very often at VT. But to go along with what 46 said, if he does commit to the good guys his recruitment may not be over. He may jump ship for a more attractive late offer??

CBs on 247 all starting to move in Miami's direction for Cager.

Whether the practice is right or wrong, CB predictions always go decisively against VT, to take it as you will.

Yep, looks like it's Miami. Apparently he is picking based on who his QB will be. Of course that is an important consideration, but it seems like he would visit Miami before choosing them (or did he? idk). Until a week or two ago I had written off Cager, he always seemed to me like he thought he was too big for VT. Would be a big bonus to get him though.

Maybe he's just a really big fan of Da U Part 2
