Unless his contract was ridiculous, I don't see what the point of this move is. He's a solid RB that gives you run and pass threat...and I don't think they have anybody behind him that's going to light it up...can somebody explain the logic here...maybe something going on behind the curtain???

His contract wasn't ridiculous, but cutting him saves 9 million, 11 if he gets more than 2 million in his contract with a new team due to offset language.

The Vikings were right up against the cap, So signing anyone for depth or injury replacement would have been nearly impossible if Dalvin didn't want to restructure. He didn't, and I don't blame him.

I think it was a bad look for the team to leave him twist in the wind for months in an attempt to garner some kind of trade value. The second that we realized that a trade or restructure wasn't happening, it was time for the team to move on.

If he signs with the Dolphins then they are probably the favorite in the AFC. All riding on Tua's ability to stay on the field of course but if he does then the Dolphins will be a force and Tua might be that young player that comes out of nowhere to make a MVP run this season.

It sucks, but then again, Cook gets to go to a better franchise. The Vikings seem to be average at best when they aren’t signing Brett Favre.

I have no issue with the Vikings holding on to Cook until June. They paid for the right to do that in the previous years of the contract.

With Wynn at Left Tackle Tua is more likely to get concussed and retire.....

It's a slotted small money contract compared to the real contracts that they are allowed to actually negotiate for. Now you know.
You're an idiot. No shit it's slotted small money but it still has to be signed by the player. That's how contracts work genius.

So, playing by his rule.

Makes me feel better about Zeke, that's for sure.
Running into the column catching the subway train really messed up his brain.
