Now, I am really pissed off. The former Australian Champion in 2012 and '13 gets injured and she ends up being dumped by the seeding committee because she falls outside 32? At least Wimbledon officials take your past performance into consideration but the Australians can go fuck themselves.

Wimbledon is the only major that doesn't seed directly from the current 52-week rankings.

Someday they'll get with the times like the others, I hope. Giving out higher seeds based on past success is truly stupid.

This has always been the case. You miss time for injury and yes you will enter 3 of the 4 and possibly all 4 majors unseeded

Wimbledon is the most prestigious of all tennis tourneys and I think they are right in their seeding. I remember when the same issue came up with Monica Seles coming back from injury. The amusing thing is supporters of WS especially Venus did not object when she was ranked unrelated to her actual ranking because she was a past champion. It is not stupid especially when viewed in the context of so many players in the past who played many matches to paddy their ranking such as Caroline Wozniacki and Dinara Mubinovna Safina who shot into # 1 ranking but could not buy any GS if even their lives depended on it. Serena proved it in AO that ranking is the pits when it comes to AO.

LB, I hope she meets SW early and takes her out. That would add to the watching pleasure of the AO!:suds:

Let's go Vika. Show them all that not seeding you doesn't matter. You are going all the way.
