Appears Lane Kiffin thought he was a genius and could find a loop hole in the scholarship reductions.

4 Players on the USC football team had Track and Field scholarships, but not football scholarships.

I think this could be bad. Can't just throw a show cause on Kiffin for this, it's something the university should have caught.

Would have been devastating for the program.

Sounded legit, what a great thought of a loophole though.

This is rumor and innuendo. I refuse to believe that USC would participate in any conduct not of the highest integrity.

Even with the Sanctions SC was under the limit this year. It wouldn't make a lot of sense.

If they were on the track and field team there's nothing wrong with it at all. Coach BOB was looking at doing the same at PSU. You know there are other athlete's that play multiple sports.

The NCAA is uber strict on the rules of dual sport athletes when involved in the basketball and especially football sports and monitor their status more carefully, because they know it would be heavily abused for especially football. Next thing you know, Alabama would have 20 extra "track and field" athletes who were all 4-5 star football players in H.S. claiming scholarships from T&F, instead of the football scholys.

NCAA makes to a point that your scholarship has to count towards the football teams scholarship hardcount no matter what.

Yup. If you play football you are either on a football scholarship or a walkon, regardless of what sport got you on campus. I think you can be on another sport scholly the first year if you dont play. NCAA rules confuse me tho.

Not a new idea. Theres a reason rules were made ;)
