As a casual fan, how good are the Slovaks? Are we just that damn good or are we playing lesser competition?

USA are really good, but the Slovaks are also weaker than in past years. They were way oversold I thought coming in(the Slovaks I mean)

They're better than this. Halak is a very good goalie, and they have some solid talent. Chara and Hossa are among the best at their positions in the NHL, for example. But I think they're a bit banged up as a team.

And as I type, Dustin Brown notches USA's sixth of the period.

Slovaks are good. Have a lot of NHL guys on the team. They're not as good as Canada, Sweden, Russia or the US tho.

The Slovaks are a bit beat up, however, I don't think Vishnovsky or Gaborik make this game that much different. They needed Halak to stand on his head, and he did for 20 minutes...
