I've said it a ton of times, but I have no idea why Venus still bothers with singles when she is so bad in it and so awesome in doubles. Play dubs full-time and enjoy 10 titles per year instead of your current irrelevance. Plus, it will help your legacy by bringing more press to doubles.

I will be there tomorrow for the day session. Probably the best days to go is the Friday and Saturday before labor day. Crazy from end to end.

I went to an Ashe night session in 2010. It sat in a loge seat, and it still felt like I was watching ants play tennis.

I don't think I'll ever go back in there. I'd rather just watch matches on TV.

Grounds pass is where it's at.

Yep and you get to see more tennis with the grounds pass. In addition to that the tickets for a decent seat in Ashe are pretty pricey. I paid $76 for my grounds pass for this sunday.

Another reason the other courts are better than Ashe until the quarters is because the better matches are on those courts. Would you rather have tickets to Ashe tonight to 2 lopsided matches or would you rather be at Armstrong watching a competitive match between Monfils and Isner?

Big John gets the job done....Exciting match.

Big match against Kohlschreiber while American Jack Sock plays Tipsareovic

Isner is talking big right now to Brad Gilbert. Just said he will get his revenge after losing to Kohlsch reiber last year here in the 3rd round lol.

BTW last year those 2 played a thrilling 5 set match that finish at 2:26 AM Monday Morning.

Isner is playing better tennis than I thought he ever would.

His return is worlds better than even a year ago. And he's using his forehand more aggressively than ever before. Bravo to him, no matter what happens for the rest of this tournament.

He's gotten himself into phenomenal shape, which is what is required to compete with the top 8 in this day and age. If players like Harrison and Sock developed that work ethic right now, they would climb the rankings more quickly.

Johnny Mac claims today that we will have a Men GS winner in the next 5 years....Anyway back to your Isner, it sucks that he got a terrible draw by having to face Rafa in the round of 16 if he makes it that far instead of a next player as he could've possibly made a run to QF or semis if he was in another part of the draw

Ditto. Just got back.

Saw Womens doubles match. Raymond and Hercoag vs Mrtic and Petkovic. Great match. Raymond is a ridiculous doubles player.

Also saw Makarova beat Lisicki in the Grandstand. Left during Donald Youngs match. He is tough to watch. Murray maxed out Armstrong.

I'm so jealous. I have to get back to Queens next year for Labor Day weekend again. It was a blast when I was there a few years back, and your posts made me remember it again.

Anyhoo, tough loss for JMDP. After basically destroying his right wrist to win the US Open in 2009, it looks like he might be having left wrist problems now. No matter what, he won a major, so that's incredible, even if he had to ruin his wrist to do it.

I'm hoping they're stupid enough to put Murray on Armstrong again on Sunday instead of Li Na. I will probably try to catch Berdych, the bryan brothers, and Baghdatis on sunay. If I see those 3 I'll be fine even if I can't see Murray. Wouldn't mind seeing Leyton either.

haha

i give that a 0.0000000000001% chance.

It is probably going to be in prime time anyway.

So the schedule is out tomorrow and they decided to put Christine McHale on Ashe instead of Isner. This will be the 2nd straight round that they robbed Isner of playing on Ashe.

Old Lion do they give you a schedule of the matches when you get there or should I print one out tomorrow night?
