I thought he played pretty poorly at Wimbledon.

40 unforced errors. yikes.

if rafa doesn't win this match, i'll be very surprised.

rafa just throwing slop all over the court. shank forehands and returns virtually every point.

great heart, but a truly vile game. congrats to him on the win.

It's a game of the feet and Djoke's are going now. He absolutely dominated the first few games of the last set and then let Mr. Hustle get his momentum back.

Seriously awesome match. Nadal knows heavy topspin is taking it's toll on Dj...he has to put so much more body into every shot.

Novak lost this match in the 3rd set when he had 3 break points in a critical game when it was 4-4

Whatever you guys say its a very even between Rafa as Novak and Rafa only won because of the five setter that made Djoko tired. Rafa benefitted just as Murray did at the Wimby final

I will like to wait till I see the replay before commenting on this match as I was at work and could not watch this. I know for sure my predictions on who will win in both women and men all came true.

Hmmmmm. Do you actually believe in this doozy you just posted? Why give excuses to Djokovic when he had none for himself?

4 more for Rafa to tie Roger's record. I'm betting he breaks it in 2015.

I am not saying that Rafa did not deserve to win or that he didn't play good enough. Rafa coming back at 0-40 down at a clutch situation when the set was pretty much riding on it is absolutely amazing and displays how mentally tougher he is than the rest of the field. Fed could do that when he was younger.

What I am saying is that had Djoko had a three setter in the SF he would most certainly have taken this to a fifth and made another epic and would have probably won the match. Rafa had the luck of the draw and sometimes that is what gives you a slam. Murray also benefitted from a tired Djoko at Wimby and even though Murray played hideously like a coward (for a set and half he was playing safe and not taking chances or playing creative tennis like Roger or Nole are capable of), he still won his first Wimby.

Fans did not get what they wanted. But that should not matter if you are a die hard Nadal fan.

Rafa has certainly come back with a vengeance after the eight month "layoff". He has excelled in his worst surface and dominated everyone in it. That can't be said for Federer who could not do it on clay. There is so much else that Federer's game and his legacy has that I am content with it.

Nadal had his worst low when he suffered his eight straight consecutive losses to Djokovic on every surface but he turned that around with a mental strength that has never been seen in men's tennis. Rafa is clearly the second best of all time at the moment.

I still think AO is Rafa's worst surface. I think he prefers the US Open's average hard court, over AO's slow surface.

I saw the match today, and this was without a doubt the worst Nadal played in this tournament. Djokovic was terrible all tournament long, so I wasn't exactly surprised by how terrible he played.

Djokovic's 1st serve % as poor early in the match, and he had backhand errors constantly throughout the match. Those were the biggest factors IMO.

Fun match to watch.

About FED: I think his best/worst surfaces have changed over time.

Early on, his best was grass. Then for most of his career, his best was hard courts IMO.

Right now, I feel grass is his worst surface, as he has trouble breaking serve, or even getting returns in. I think he's become better at clay because he can get those balls in, and then start contructing points.

Nadal: I don't know if he has a worst surface anymore, maybe grass because it requires quick reactions all the time. Nadal was good at the net on grass from 2007-2008, IMO, he could finish points there.

Also, these Djokovic-Nadal matches are close. They both have some great shots, and both can retrieve each others'. I like Djokovic a little more because he gets better depth on his shots.

I also think Djokovic played a lot worse in the 2010 USO Finals. Nadal finished points better then.

2 years ago in 2011, Djokovic wore a FDNY hat during the trophy celebration.

Do you think he brought it with him this year too? Do you think he only would have worn it and made a comment about the day, if he had won?
