Weird timing on move when their season was done exactly a month ago. Don't get waiting so long if going to fire coach

May indicate just how important football is to that school, or not important. Whatever

Amazing to me how some schools have zero clue when it comes to football and the importance of hiring/firing. Literally no clue at all, maybe its a northeast thing?

No way this happened without Diaco having said something that was the final straw. Timing had to mean something new came up.

They saved some cash firing him before like the 2nd but still, he just got an extension in may. Plus he made a bowl game last year.

They must have who they want and want to pull the trigger. :noidea:

It could have been the AD was requiring staff changes and that wasn't happening.

Randy Edsall was the best coach they ever had and he couldn't get out of there fast enough.
Something in the water I guess.

This is weird... he's not officially fired until next Monday Jan 2nd in order to save buyout $$$. So for a week, he gets to sit around in lame duck status.

Well..... this week perhaps Diaco will swipe a stapler, pens, perhaps even a laptop.

I'm thinking they waited to save on buyout money

curious to see who they hire

the downturn in year 3 wasn't a good thing but I thought after how year 2 went they might have given him another year. Not the case I guess

I would welcome him as our new DC since he played with Bielema at Iowa. But things that seem easy like that usually never happen.

I was thinking the same thing but as a position coach since Oregon already hired a DC. He could be LB coach. I don't know what kind of relationship him and Taggart have though. They coached against each other in the AAC.
