Not really. Despite his great W-L record in the minors during 2012, he was a long shot to make it in the majors. Never made anybody's list of top prospects.

Are you saying "not really" to Phillies fans wanting Cloyd up? Are you joking?

There was no problem with Phis fans wanting Cloud up last year. I was one of the people that said he needed to be up. But don't complain about Sandberg and Ruben giving him a look this year, even if he has pitched badly. This basically rules out the chance of him being a starter next year, which is good, but he just has not been effective at the major league level.

Tyler Cloyd,......................., ran into a pissed of bunch of Braves.

Ouch.
not sure why a dodger fan is trolling here about the braves. anyway the braves were so pissed off and big and bad that after cloyd they were blanked by robles (who the fuck is that?), savery, defratus, ramirez, and rosenberg.

no, I said "not really" to everything you wrote.

Phillies fans do seem angry at Ruben for giving Cloyd a chance, but just 14 months ago they were angry for not giving him a chance. You can't have your cake and eat it too or something or another.

How is he trolling? You made a thread to seemingly laugh at Tyler Cloyd, and BigD joined in.

of course everyone (including me) wanted him up after going 14-1. my simple point was that he was a very long shot to make the rotation.

It was actually 12-1. I went and looked it up after my initial guess. Where was this point made? All I see is you laughing at Cloyd's performance, and me using sarcasm to tell everyone that we have to give Cloyd a look for next year. We will invite him to ST, but I would be shocked if he is on the opening day roster come March 31st.

Oh I see that post now. My bad. So I guess we agree. Cloyd needed to be brought up, he is not good, and he shouldn't in all likelihood be in the Phillies 2014 rotation.

this, of course, is just one of amaro's many flaws. players need to be promoted while they are doing great, not months or even years later. cloyd stinks.. and the 'moment' passed some time last year.

o boy...did you even read what bigD wrote? he was saying the reason the braves beat up on cloyd was because they were pissed off from what happened in their brawl with the brewers the night before. he was insinuating that cloyd was just unlucky to face the braves right now.

Phillies said it best, Amaro always misses the right moment to call up a player. I think that Amaro destroys their moral. Amaro keeps waiting for players to nose dive, that way he has an excuse to spend money on aging veterans instead of using the farm. No doubt, Cloyd is not the guy to move forward with, so Amaro can spend away for another pitcher. But that actually makes sense in this case.

Biddle turns 22 in October. He will need a year of triple A ball to finish his grooming. But,if he pitches well, he might be called up if there is an injury. My biggest fear is that Amaro will trade him. Perhaps, Ruf,Biddle and Asche for Giancarlo Stanton. The Marlins would probably jump on that deal. However, I would prefer that we keep Biddle and the rest of our young players. Better yet, I would prefer that Amaro would quit his job.
