These moves have me scratching my head, but I could be totally off here and it really may not have cost us a thing. 1st off , I never got the Will Allen thing. I know he was an average player at best but why did we sign him?? I think we cut him after 2 games and he was a starter for us. At least keep him as a back up and get your money out of him. Second , what kind of draft pick did we give up for Rayford - a guy we just cut. Again I dont know the cap hit of Allen , so it may have been a good move. I understand Wilcox was going to start eventually, but isnt the Allen thing just like pissing your money away.

The Rayford pick was conditional, so the cut might have been to protect the pick. No idea what the trade terms were.

Cutting Allen never made sense. He's not good, but he was insurance from being horrible and we need that now. When we cut him we had 2 starting safeties with around 10 combined starts between them and nothing on the bench. The team must have felt Heath was better if injury hit or one of the starters failed. I'd love to know if they still have that opinion after watching Heath's pathetic play Sunday night. The other guy we took a shot at. We needed bodies and someone must have liked the kid. No big deal either way to me on that one. If he isn't going to help might as well move on

Dallas doesn't consider injuries and/or Dallas can't pay their back ups standard back up pay. Better hope the remaining oline stay healthy, or that gets ugly real quick too.

I said in another thread the Allen release was stupid. We have two safety's on this team that are pure ST's. I was all for growing with Wilcox....still am, but to assume he's upright with no true back up was a bad call by our GM. McCrey & #38 have zero ball skills. Allen is missed.

So basically we paid him what is really I guess what Im asking? Like Brodney Pool last yr who never played. It seems we would want some return on the investment in the cap world. Injuries happen so sure Spencers money was wasted this yr because of injury. I see that and it happens all over the league. But the million dollar 1 yr deals we seem to hand out have to add up.

Well I read that he signed a 1 yr deal for 840000. A signing bonus of 65 k and guaranteed 555k or something around that.

Yes one year deals add up, but only for than season. They don't handcuff future years.

Allen also provided leadership to the young secondary, that alone earned his keep IMO....

you are correct. I totally agree. Thats another reason I liked Waters so much. I really didnt know he was that good of a player especially at this age , but he was.

according to the 2013 cap site I looked at it says Will Allen cost us only 65k of dead money.

Wow !! LMAO. Go back to the kiddies table. Its way over your head. :laugh3:

Nothing you have to say is over anyone's head. You cry about bullies, then try to take a swing at one of those so called bullies. Sorry to inform you but that feeble swing missed.
