If another team values him and offers us something good for him then I'd take it. He's been a great number 4 outfielder for us with all of our injuries but I think we cold find a replacement for cheaper.

why is everyone looking for the cheaper route? having a player like Murphy available to step in is more important than going cheaper. do we want more Gentry's & Chavez's?

Arbitration elligible. He can reject arbitration if he wants and the team that signs him would give up a draft pick (doubt it would be a first rounder, but more than likely a second rounder).

That's not how it works. He's arbitration eligible but he can't leave! He has one more year until he can leave.

I think Murphy has a certain amount of value but if somebody offers us more than we think he's worth then we should make a deal. I'm not really concerned so much with the amount he's paid but he is replacable.

If trading Muprhy gives up 3-4 more mil to use for CJ then that's what I want to do.

When I say trade murphy I want something in return. If he can be a piece that gets us an Ace because CJ leaves then that's what we need to do. If he gets us prospects that we can use to get an Ace then that's what we need to do. I don't want to trade him just for the sake of trading him.

He probably needed to still throw his bullpen session for the day.... and chose to do it in the evening instead of the afternoon. IMO
