Are OU fans concerned with Stoops recruiting of QBs? I guess if Allen tranfsers to OU that buys him more time, but can he live off transfers forever? This isn't trolling, just wondering if that's a concern.

The problem that OU has had, and it looks or we are hoping Stoops solved it is development. It goes back to Landry Jones after Kevin Wilson (OC) left, he never really got better when Josh Heupel took over at (QB/OC). Jones continuously made the same mistakes, he started 4 years and his best year was his sophomore year. As a Junior and Senior he looked okay, not outstanding but okay and still was making the same mistakes. It's like there was no kind of development. OU kept signing 4 star QB's but yet you never saw any development.

I can see you having one that stuggles but OU just had no QB's that seemed to develop. (Knight, Thomas, Hanson, and Thompson) They played like whipped puppies with no confidence in thier abilities. I felt that Blake Bell was the one QB that actually brought something to the table. Reads, throwing motion, ect...just overall devlopment was lacking. You were left wondering what the hell are these guys doing this whole time and why are they all struggling? It was like every wee you would know that the QB on the other side of the ball would have a better game than our QB. The position just fell... Stoops finally canned Huepel and brought in Riley who looks like things have improved and he is actually developing the QB position.

As bad as it sounds it think Knight Thomas spent to much time under Huepel and thier skills actually decreased. I remember when Knight came in and threw a pick 6, I think I was on his first play. You could see Lincoln Riley was pissed, because Knight just didn't use his reads and was sloppy. Therefore I think the new players Mayfield, or new recruits have a better chance for success and to form new correct habits rather than working to break old ones.

Last year TK9 lead the league in pick 6's.

Austin Kendall, 4* out of North Carolina, is supposed to be the real deal and will be on campus soon. He's a December grad so he might be here in a month.

How can a 4* QB out of high school be considered the "real deal?" If he was the real deal wouldn't he be a 5* recruit?
