With Jonathan Allen available, Redskins rejected 49ers trade proposal

If the Skins did this I would of went nuts. Moving down 17 spots to #34 and picking up an extra 3rd and 4th round pick. No thanks. Even if Allen wasn't there, Howard is worth a 3th and 4th. Plus I like having 1st round picks b/c you get the 5th year option. Yes we could of traded back into the first but that wasn't a given.

Frigin 49ers. Who were they targeting? How could it be Allen when they just selected Thomas and have the two 1st round picks from Oregon. If it was for Foster they lucked out b/c he fell all the way down to the end of the first.

Im sure they were targeting Foster since apparently they almost took him at #3. But no way Id even think about that deal even if Allen is off the board.

By points, that trade is just about even..fair. But moving up that far into the mid 1st usually costs a little extra. Glad we didn't do it. Allen will be a stud if he can stay healthy.

Obviously with Allen still there it would have been crazy to do this.. But fans always love the idea of moving back and the picks would be at the beginning of all 3 rounds so they weren't just 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders, they were really high 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks.

I'm not saying I would have done it but with the point values about the same I'm not ready to totally dismiss the idea either had Allen been off the board as expected.. The line that the Redskins didn't really need more picks is really stupid, you can never have too many picks. But yeah, they had to come out of this with an impact defensive player and I think they got 2 with their first two picks.
