per roch lester talks was gausman or bundy and the o's said no ty

Also, part of it was because Harvey went down for the rest of the year.

I'm glad we didn't get Lester. I think he would have bolted after the season and thus, we'd be stuck in an ever worse position without top prospects to bring into the rotation and not a lot else down on the farm that we would be able to rely on.

Also, just read that we are in on Andrew Miller. Surprised there is no talk of trading for Koji from anyone.

Looks like a few teams on for Price. Mariners, Tigers, and Pitt.

I can only imagine what type of return Tampa would want or get for Price.

According to Roch, we traded for Jimmy Paredes from the Royals for cash considerations.

According to a text alert I got from ESPN, Andrew Miller is heading to Baltimore.

Still time for the FO to pull one of those 11:59 deals out of their butts. As long as it doesn't hurt the rotation on the mound or disrupt the offense, I'm down with it. I hope they don't do something foolish and trade away someone like Pearce, Schoop, Young or Joseph for prospects that may never pan out or a washed up vet on the downside of his career. The Colon talk doesn't make me jump for joy. I've never been a fan of his -- even in his prime.

Correction ... I meant 3:59 PM. I was thinking of the August trade deadline. My bad.

I still think trading a 21 yr old LHP prospect for a 2 month rental is bad business. Miller won't re-sign here next year and we are NOT winning the WS (A's & Tigers have better teams) so why make that trade?

Agree with your first point, completely disagree with your last. Anything can happen in a 5/7-game series. Verlander has been pretty awful for the Tigers this year, and overall the O's have hit #1 starters really well. Let's focus on the division/making the playoffs first though :)

I think the division is ours to lose right now. Boston had their fire sale and has essentially given up on the season, Tampa gave up their ace and in my opinion, didn't really get as much back as they could have for him, Yankees made a few small moves and Toronto sat back and didn't do anything. So with no true Ace pitchers in the division right now (at least for the rest of the season), if we can play decent the rest of the season, we actually have a good shot at winning the division.

I know, seems like we gave up more for Miller.
