"Williams, who grew up in Compton, Calif., and turned 32 in September, produced the finest women's tennis season in years. According to the WTA:
• Her .951 winning percentage was the best since Steffi Graf's .977 in 1989;
• her 11 titles were the most since Martina Hingis' 12 in 1997;
• her winning streak was the longest since her sister, Venus, had a 35-match run in 2000.
"She just continues to be an inspiration to American tennis," said Gordon Smith, the executive director of the U.S. Tennis Association, which runs the US Open. "Her year this year? Unforgettable."
By adding a fifth career US Open championship and a second French Open title, Williams also moved within one Grand Slam trophy of the 18 apiece won by Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert. The record is 24 by Margaret Court.
Pretty heady company."

This may be old news, but Maria made sense! With all Serena has going for her, why bring up another player? It made no sense and I loved the "comeback!" It shut Serena up, made her apologize, and she hasn't been heard from outside of tennis since! :noidea: :L :bullshit: :clap: :gaah::hope:

If I were Maria I would be worried about Vika even more than Serena. Maria should concentrate on her tennis and changing coaches like her panties.

I am glad you changed "you're" obsession to "your" obsession. I am sorry but my obsession is to my wife of nearly 30 years. I am not so sure on what basis you make such a statement. But then again, your fucked up logic is all that you are left with.

Actually, I was out of sorts that day. I thought simtast was the one that originated the thread .

My mistake. It is he/she who is obsessed with Hyena, not you.

The last time she tried this she was much younger, but she got absolutely annihilated. By Karsten Braasch, who at the time was the #203 man in the world. And who was playing with only one serve. And the most hilarious part was that when it was all done and she humbly changed her challenge request from "a male outside the top 200" to "a male outside the top 350", he quipped that if she waited a couple of weeks he'd be losing a bunch of points from tournament losses and he'd probably be down around #350 if she wanted a rematch.

I also remember that when Hewitt and Clijsters were dating she said that she had a lot of trouble even winning a single point against him, let alone a game or a set.

ROTFL!!!

Serena will not be playing Murray. Everybody knows it is a joke.

It better be. I doubt she would tarnish the perception of her greatness by being destroyed by Murray. She couldn't compete with a bottom tier, male player, much less Murray.

Maybe if Serena played Rod Laver or someone from that time she would have a shot. Those guys can barely move now.

I bet even McEnroe would still kick her ass.

She couldn't beat King Tut, much less McEnroe.

Now, let me ask you; do you think any female player in history or even current player can play and not be destroyed by Andy? Taking Serena to claim she would tarnish the perception of her greatness is to posit that she is the only female player who will be destroyed by Andy. And we all know it is patently false.

Maria outlooks her by a country mile. So who cares whether she can play tennis or not?

it's out of sharapova's hands

if serena is playing 75% or above, she wins

all sharapova can do is hope that serena is REALLY off when they play

And she was not evening serving at 75% today it was more like 40% while Maria was serving in the high sixties low seventies.

I keep wondering why this thread is on the main board so much....I must have been lucky enough to logon right after someone else posted.

but it is refreshing to see there is one person that feels the same about tennis as I. :suds:
