So tonight @ 530 Pacific the BCS standings are unveiled.

According to computer nerd cBS' Jerry Palm says the top 3 look like this

1 Bama .9842
2 FSU .9336
3 Oregon .9333

So the FSU Seminoles have a .0003 lead on Oregon. If Oregon beats UCLA and FSU beats NC State Oregon will leap FSU and most likely not look back, if all were to win out.

4-10

4 Ohio State .8497
5 Missouri .8114
6 Baylor .7514
7 Stanford .7441
8 Miami .7359
9 Clemson .6695
10 Texas Tech .5931

That is fine.....00000003 tenths is nothing to worry about. Oregon easily jumps FSU after beating #11 UCLA. Then of course beating a top 10 Stanford team. FSU got their quality win and its over.

Yeah because beating a top 7 Miami team is not a quality win.

After it's all set and done, FSU 2 quality wins will be ranked higher than Oregon's 2 quality wins. After Oregon beats UCLA they will fall out of the top 15 and if they beat Stanford, they will fall out of the top 10 while Clemson will still be in the top 10 and Miami will still be in the top 15

The difference between Oregon and FSU is going to come down to human perception (1/3rd of the formula).

Unless one loses of course.

which favors Oregon. Media loves the Ducks and Mariota will be Heisman. Everyone wants to see the Oregon/Alabama matchup, they wanted it last year too.

You'd have to live east of the Rockies to get a true gauge on that. If FSU keeps winning big the East Coast will be pimping them over Oregon IMO.

You've got to understand, most people east of the Rockies are asleep by halftime of the PAC 12 games.

Not saying it's right, it's just a fact.

I think Oregon has solidified themselves over the last 5 years to prove to people they are true top program. People love Oregons offense, they love the playmakers the Ducks have....They would LOVE an Alabama/Oregon match up as its been almost hyped for 2-3 years now. People have been waiting for this game.

So long as Bama remains #1 or #2, I'm good.

I am aware of this, it especially hurt us when Oregon was on the climb to the top back in the mid 00's...We would beat teams but barely move in the polls because no one saw. But again, I think Oregons brand over the last 5 years has made everyone pay attention.

Bama will be fine now unless they lose of course. If they only had LSU left I would be slightly worried but now that Auburn is a top 15 ranked team that means they will easily make it as long as they win out.

I understand your thoughts, but FSU will get more exposure east of the Rockies. It's just the way it's always been.

The computers ain't gonna like that Beavers loss to an FCS team either.

That looks fine, honestly in a few weeks Oregon will either be 2, 1 or have dropped due to a loss.

Your marketing is second to none. That may give them an edge. :noidea:

I understand FSU will get the attention, but IMO I think the HUMANS will understand what is going on and will put Oregon ahead of FSU in the end. Because again, IMO, I think Oregon has solidified themselves over the years to be elite and also I think people will be impressed in how Oregon wins the games the are suppose to win.

Oregon will have a solid win vs a ranked UCLA, Stanford and even though they might have an FCS loss...it could very well be the Beavers are ranked top 20 by the time they visit Oregon...Plus a PAC title game win as well.

FSU will have Clemson, Miami and the ACC titel game, which in the past, the ACC title game doesn't usually pit a very high ranked team from one of the divisions.

Thank you for the correction. :thumb:

Just saying that there is a huge population in the Midwest and East for Oregon to overcome if FSU continues to roll.
