If they only lose 3 more games(including the B1GT) Minnesota is a lock, with a single digit seed, and maybe even as high as a 4/5 seed. They would finish 26-9, a top 15 RPI and a top 10 SoS. Now does that happen? Probably not. Fortunately for Minnesota they stepped up their OOC schedule, unlike most of the teams in the B1G this year.

I said 4 games and was only including the regular season. Assuming they lose their 4 toughest games left which are 2 games against Maryland, vs Indiana and @ Wisconsin and win the rest. This would make them 21-10 before the BIG tournament. Right now their BPI is 49 and their SOS is 42. KenPom is 39 and Sagarin has them at 39. If they go 5-4 I would expect all those ratings to have them drop 15-20 spots. I think they would probably have to win at least 1 game in the BIG tournament to be a lock.

Huh?

If they lost 3 more that would mean a 10-8 big 10 finish lmao. They would be like a 6 seed.

They were a 8 seed and 3-4 lmao.

They're projected to be an 8 seed right now and I meant if they have 4+ loses they might be out at 9-9 in conference play and an overall record of 21-10. One team last year had a better conference record that was above .500 but still missed the tournament. If they lose 4 more games and the first game in the BIG tournament I don't think they're a lock.

If they do finish 21-10(9-9) they will have a top 30 RPI, and a top 20 SOS. Their KenPom numbers won't change that drastically if they finish 6-4 which you suggested above. It may even improve. They've lost 4 in a row and their KenPom number has only dropped like 6 spots. Going 6-4 won't drop it that much.

Well Maryland is somehow 18-2 because they win close games, period. It's been going on for 3 years now, they get the stops and make free throws when it matters. The schedule is finally going to catch up with them and they will come back to the pack and probably finish 3rd which is where they belong with 4 new starters including 3 freshman. But I'm super proud of my team for showing up in a new league and representing very well since their arrival.

If Indiana misses the tourney or exits the first round, is Crean gone?

We just arent a good team.

They can hang with better teams but that "it" factor to push over the top and actually beat them just is not there.

6 or 7 B1G wins seems to be the ceiling at this point

^^^ this for nebraska

:pound: Indiana

It's going to take more for them to miss the tourney, but they are certainly on track if they keep laying out efforts like that.

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out what happened to Indiana this year. I was thinking wins over them and Georgetown would help the Terps, now it's clear they weren't such good wins.

Wisconsin appears to be the top team this year to me with Purdue a close 2nd.

Not if we get beat by fucking Rutgers. BK and Hayes both had the worst first half of the year. Combine that with Rutgers making outside shots consistently for the first time this year and that gives Rutgers the lead. This is fucking embarrassing. Only person who showed up today was Happ. Everyone else is in awe of playing in Madison Square Garden.

Dear Greg Gard,

Please play Van Vilet the 7 FT dude who can shoot the three and crash the boards. Especially when Brown and Hayes have combined for 0-7 in the first half at least give the guy a chance instead of just playing him in garbage time.

When a bunch of great three point shooters are 1-15 on (mostly wide open) threes, that's not the fault of the coach. That's just a fluke.

Saw the score (20 points in 22 minutes vs Rutgers?!? Good God!) and felt I should come here to make sure great Dayne was still alive and ranting.

BTW for all the talking you did in the off-season about this Van Vilet dude, well.... He's just not good, bro

Outside of Happ just one bucket has been made until just a second ago. IDK how we are even in this game with the worst shooting performance in team history.

IDK, I've seen him make three three's in 4 minutes and collect 5 boards in that time. We will never know if he's good unless he plays with the starters in non garbage time play. He's certainly better than Alex Illikanien the worst fucking player on the planet. The guy belongs in D III basketball at best. Are other big man in Charlie Thomas is only good at fouling.

LOL @ Wisconsin winning this game despite shooting like 2/20 or so outside of Happ.

Stop chucking three's if it's not falling. Drive or cut to the basket. No reason to continue to chuck if you're chucking bricks. Get to the line to develop a rhythm. You know it's bad when Charlie Thomas looks like the best shooter on the team.
