So I know we had a vote and we were supposed to have this discussion in the Indiana forum, but I can sticky a thread in this here so I'm taking the initiative.

I would appreciate you guys following these rough guidelines.

1. No nastiness.
2. Stay on topic. Anything B1G Hoops related.
3. Try not to bombard the thread, let other people voice opinions.

When the schedules came out, I really liked our chances at the Challenge, but I am less sure now. I think Purdue, PSU, Nebraska, and Northwestern will likely lose. I think the only solid wins are Illinois and Michigan State.

That makes it 4-2 ACC with 6 tossups. Although I think we are the slight favorite in most of the tossups, that's hardly a slam dunk.

Random topic but I'd have to say Illinois is the most surprising team, they ran over everyone, with Butler being a noteworthy win.

Purdue on the other hand has been shockingly bad and Penn St. is dead in the water with their only player tearing his acl.

I'm surprised by Illinois, too. I really didn't hear anything about them. Every team is allowed one hiccup in the early weeks.

Well 20% of the way into the season Id say I am disappointed in Michigan State,Wisconsin ( not that they lost to Florida and Creighton but HOW they lost) pleasantly surprised by Illinois, Minnesota. Rest of the league is playing out pretty much how I figured so far. Still not sold on the Illini but its a good start for sure. The challenge should provide more answers

I don't know enough about MSU's team this year yet, but I know losing Gasser was a huge problem for us.

Minnesota is the one I was actually most surprised by. They've had talent and gone nowhere. Maybe this is a turning point? Then again we always say that, and then somehow they manage to screw themselves.

McCaffery needs to get an idea of what he wants to run with his lineups and his rotation. It's been all over the place so far. Also, I think that by the end of the year Gesell will be at 2 guard giving Clemmons the point. Gesell seems to play better off the ball and I like Clemmons' defense so far.

Indiana and Michigan both look tough and have different strengths.

Ind - Zeller/inside game
Mich - Burke & Hardaway Jr./outside game

I'd probably give the edge to Indiana right now but we'll see after the 1st month of B1G play

I agree, but for some reason I feel like Michigan will take them the first time around.

I don't know. 1st matchup is in Bloomington. Last game of the year is Ind/Mich.

We open up against Ind and if they get to the line like VT did, we're screwed.

I just looked and Indiana's 1st road game of the year is NYE @ Iowa City. Hopefully we can pull off some magic like last year.
