I was saying Whiteside could be the best bargain in the NBA NEXT season.

Gotcha.
Agree 100%, except for possibly a rookie or very young player on a rookie contract.

Even those. Whiteside could easily post 17-18ppg, 12rpg and 2bpg starting from day one. For under a million?

That's a great deal.

Coin toss Kyrie or Dragic LMAO!

ha. I mean- I have to give Dragic credit, in that- I have never seen a less accomplished 28 year old NBA player get that much money.

Pat Riley would punch his dog if it meant he could trade Dragic for Irving. That would be the best phone call Riley has ever gotten since he learned he wasnt the dad of that pregnant hooker.

DJ, do you know the list of gus that have gotten 18a nd 12 in the NBa in the last 20 years? Whteside- the guy who was playing in the Lebanesse league last year is going to go 18 and 12 for a full NBA season because he had some big statistical games for 3 months?

I hate that I have to be against Whiteside like this because I like his talent- but for shits sake some of this stuff is ridiculous!18 and 12...holyshit.

if you are the Lakers would you offer that guy all that money? You would risk- say next year- 15 million a year on that guy? The guy with those physical gifts that 30 NBA teams would not touch for years until the Heat did last year. The guy who when he finally got his second chance still acted up at times?

I mean- I agreee- the talent is potentially there to be a solid NBA center if he learns the game- but I think it would be risking a lot. Who knows how this guy responds once all that money is guaranteed. The guy is 26 years old. Its not like he is a rookie. If I were a team id probably spend my money elsewhere but we shall see. The Heat are lucky in that they have him this year for nothing and can really try and get the best read on him.

It's not potential.
It's there.

And, I would almost agree if the decision had to be made now, but it doesn't.
If his head stays straight all season, you're going to assume it's just an act?

He either learned and grew up or he didn't.
I'm thinking and hoping he did.

I've never met him, but he seems like a nice enough kid.
He's been appearing at various Heat summer events and kids camps and seems to truly enjoy himself and his role.

Dragic has put up really good numbers for a PG since becoming a starter 3 years ago. Before then he was the best backup PG in the league

More per year than he originally wanted, but it still means playing for the Kings.

Honestly, it would depend on how he did next season. He only had one issue that I remember this past season. Sometimes, a guy just needs some time to figure stuff out. If he shows that he has, you reward him. A team that signs him, whether it's the Heat or someone else, can give him a rich contract with team options beginning after the 2nd year.

It's not ideal because there is obviously the risk that he'll revert to his old ways once he gets paid, but it's not like there's a glut of great centers in the league, so it's worth the risk, imo.

I think 18/12 is easily reachable, plus the blocks.
If he makes FTs, it willl happen

He's had double doubles in the first qtr.

I don't think there's a longer body in the league.
If it's a 50/50 ball near the rim, it's his almost every time.

Dragic wasn't worth his money even though he has proven to be a good starting PG for the last 3 years and been a good PG in this league for about 5-6 years now but Thompson who's been a mediocre player his entire career excluding his rebounding deserved his 80 million dollar contract

Keep drinking the kool aid.
Tell us again why your list of best player in the world plus 2 in the next 14 aren't champions?

Dragic was Nash's understudy.
He's been terrific since he's been a starter.

Honestly, the more you speak, the more you expose yourself.

<Looks around for Mecca and LAD>

I'm starting to think that all Cavs fans are women. The logic is astoundingly similar.

Thompson is not worth 16 million dollars- the circumstances obviously drove that up- that and the rising cap. I mean- what after that playoff performance and everything annd the fact that he is 24 years old and improving, and that he never gets hurt, and that he shares agents with LeBron, and the fact that its not like the Cavs would be able to use the cap room it would save on him for someone else since they are already over thecap---- I mean- with where the Cap is going you could justify 12...the fact he knew they could replace him and how he kicked ass at theright time really worked out for him and it sounds like he is going to get 16 a season.....all though apparently its not finished yet.

I'll take Kyrie if it's in the All Stsr game.
I'll take Dragic if I need a PG to direct an offense.

Kyrie is a better player then Dragic for any roster with James, but the Heat roster will be much better with Dragic then Kyrie because we already have a 2.
Kyrie is not a PG.

I can agree to a level but Kyrie is growing everyday as a PG and passer. He is going to be great if he can stay healthy. It's crazy how much Kyrie grew as a 3 pt shooter when Lebron came. He has become a great shooter.

honestly- what a joke....Dragic is amazing, Whteside is amazing- Wade is the best he has been in years

AND THEY LOST GROUND TO THE CELTICS AND NETS.

Im sorry- it all begins and ends there. Until this team proves that it is more than just eastern lotto fodder after LeBron left thats sure what it appears like from the outside.

You do realize Whiteside, Wade, and Dragic hardly played with each other right?
