To make the playoffs the Giants have to finish ahead of one of these teams

Dodgers, Padres, Cardinals (moot, they will win NLC), Mets, Phillies, Braves

This doesn't even account for a team we don't see coming (Marlins? DBacks?)

Look at those top 6 teams' rosters, and look at ours. Gonna take a lot of luck mostly injury luck (as in bad luck for them, good luck for us)

I know that you are slightly more optimistic than me on how the team will perform (but less so than some others here) but I have to remind myself that there is a season still to be played. The team may pleasantly surprise me. But you are correct, there are a few teams that look better on paper.
