Re: Franklin fumble being a bad rookie mistake. That goes on McCarthy. Stupid decision to give it to Franklin right up the middle when our interior OL brought zero push and Franklin isn't a power back. You either run a QB keeper or a pass. That was just a stupid decision by McCarthy

How is it a rookie mistake when guys that have been in the league 10 years or more still fumble? Fumbles arent rookie mistakes.

Getting rid of him won't turn it all around but having someone back there that can catch and secure possession will help. He lost the ball before the blockers even had a chance to set up. Cobb was a star behind the same blockers which tells me he's not hitting the right lanes and not securing the ball. He single handedly helped the Bengals jump to a 14-0 lead before Rodgers even touched the ball. Can't have that period. Ball security is a must on kick offs.

I was referring to the grief he took for some of the kickoffs he brought out that others said he shouldn't have come out. He was 2 yards in and had 3 guys on him by the 10 yard line. Oh and Cobb never fumbled? He only cost them 7 points, not 14. You forget the defense?

His hesitation is more to blame than blockers not being there IMO. There were a few returns where he was told to stay in but hesitated then decided to come out resulting in poor starting field position for us. Regardless the powers that be now see him as a liability and he was released. Cobb has fumbled once in 3 years, Ross fumbled 3 in the last 4 games.

He clearly brought 2 kick returns out of the end zone that are all on him and should have stayed in end zone, on one his blocker (Kuhn) was even telling him to stay in the end zone and he ignored his blocker.

He did have one return that blocking was the issue and was tackled around 10 yard line.

When your role on team is primarily a returner, you had better do it well. He was not doing it well.

Cobb has fumbled a few, but the rate he has fumbled is much less as he has handled more returns... Cobb also has returned some kicks and punt returns for TDs.
