I hope he puts on a little weight, every time he makes a move I am afraid his limbs will break under the twigs but he is sick as hell.

In this instance it is a crime if he doesn't play professionally some where, but I would love to see him play college.

Hopefully all the publicity doesn't go straight to his ego, and he stays focused on improving his game.

For over 7 feet his game is very impressive. How polished he is as a shooter and dribbler for someone that big is something special, considering he's 16. Crazy to think he's only in 10th grade right now.

what a great post. I am shocked at these videos. There is so many young players coming up, but this is a wow. Better line up those picks, and I do hope the Nets suffer hard in those years.

Have any of you seen the highlights of Thon Maker? He's a 16 year old 10th grader, who's 7 feet tall and has guard like skills. This kid could be a special, special player in the future. He's in the class of 2016 and I've seen him listed at 7 feet and an inch taller. Doubt he's even done growing yet.

Thon Maker, Top High School Recruit, Is Enormous And Already Has Awesome Highlight Video

I know Thon. Unbelievable talent and a good kid too. Like all prospects he has a lot to work on in terms of defensive positioning and basketball IQ, but the skills are unreal. Closest NBA comps are Garnett and Anthony Davis.

The ONLY thing that that can prevent Thon from being the number 1 pick in 2017 is injury. Judging by the way his handlers keep allowing him play 6-8 games a weekend during AAU season, I wonder whether those closest to him might be placing too much emphasis on unnecessary exposure today when they should be continuing to develop skills and making sure that 7 foot frame does not start breaking down early.

You think teams are tanking now? Wait until 2017 if Thon is healthy.

Thon is closer to a 3 than a 5.

I agree but I assume he is going to get a bigger frame over the next 2-4 years that would make him the most diverse Center any one has ever seen. Probably something like Pau with a better handle/shot.

It is not his frame, it is his skill set.

He may be able to guard the 5 position someday, but he is a perimeter player, no doubt about it.
