No, he was very good in his 2010 World Series start - the other games he was pretty underwhelming.

2010 NLDS game 4, he pitched very well. 6 innings just three earned and 5 strikouts

2010 NLCS he pitched okay in game 4 and did great in relief in the clinching game 6.

Obviously was spectacular in game 4 of the world series.

Remember he was only 20 years old rookie at the time.

Certainly much to be optimistic for with Bumgarner.

Would you rather have the good regular season pitcher who is great in the postseason or the great regular season pitcher who is awful in the postseason?

That's a 4.50 ERA....just to put that into perspective, Kyle Gibson, Drew Hutchison, CJ Wilson all had ERAs of about 4.50 this year....I don't think anyone would say they pitched 'very well.'

Not to mention, the average team in the 2010 postseason had a 3.45 ERA, so an ERA over a run higher is 'very well' in your view?

2 ER, not 3 in the LDS. That's alright - not amazing.

Game 4 of the LCS he gave up 3 ER in 4.2. That's bad.

I'm not putting candles on his birthday cake, I'm evaluating his pitching, so his age doesn't mean anything to me on this.

For a 20 year old rookie, making his first postseason start, that was probably the best you could hope for.

It's a lot better than Kershaw i'll tell you that.

In Kershaw's first postseason start he went 6.2 and only gave up 2 ER.

If the question is who has been the better pitcher over the past four years, there's little argument. Kershaw has been the best pitcher in the league, hands down. However, if you're asking who you would want to hand the ball to in game 7 of the World Series, I'd choose Bumgarner every time.

Agreed, Champ.

Sandoval is the new "Mr. October". Champ.

"Has anyone EVER gotten on base 3 times in one game??? I mean, what we're witnessing here is MIRACULOUS, Harold!!!"

:rolleyes2:

...and yes, Buck actually anointed Flablo as Reggie Jackson's successor.

Amateurish, reactionary bullshit. It's utterly laughable.
