That's kinda odd. Celebrating the changing of a name? They were a franchise for 3 years prior to 1965, just as the Colt .45's.

Indeed. It could be something to do with the Astrodome itself too. But that is also a little odd, since they don't play there anymore and haven't for a while.

Teams will do anything to sell a few more pennants/patches or whatever. I remember I lived in Maryland in the mid-90s and I still have a "40 year anniversary" pennant for the Orioles moving to Baltimore. 40 years, not 50. Kinda funny. It is signed by Mark McLemore and Leo Gomez though, so that's cool.
