The Titans would seem to be the trade partner for us....

I would not give up all these assets and an additional 1st next season for MM. You've got to be kidding. Next season will be a solid draft. Furthermore, just my opinion, I think Foles struggled last season due to a new QB coach. I wouldn't be willing to just give him away just to move up for someone who hasn't done shit yet at the pro level.

He isn't Andrew Luck or a Manning. I am not in favor of moving up to get him. This system is Quarterback friendly so I am not ready to give up that much for him. I will admit I do not watch college but from what I hear not everyone in convinced he will succeed at the next level. Right or wrong, no one said that about Luck or Manning.

I did watch the Championship game and when Ohio shut down the run game the Ducks looked a lot like the Eagles did this year. I know it is just one game but that was a championship game. If we make the trade then I will hope for the best.

:wtf2: Ohio? Really?

Assuming you are only gonna hit on 50% of your picks anyway, its a no-brainer to do that deal for a chance at a stud QB. Spinning your wheels with average QBs has gone on long enough. Its the biggest reason this team hasnt won a SB.

Reid wasted a ton of time with McChoke. Id hate to see Chip do the same with Foles.

Once you have the QB, the rest is pie. Its getting the QB that is by far the hardest thing to do in all of sports. Get one if you have the chance.

If the Bucs arent totally sold on Mariota...Chip will have his chance & Ive been saying for the longest, Chip will go after him. I also have been saying for the longest that the dumb ass Bucs will choose Winston, well...because they are the Bucs.

People need to get the RG3 trade out of their head as well. Completely different type of deal will happen here & oh btw, our Coach will be totally on board & the QB wont have a huge head coming in.

Cant be scared to win a SB. Gotta take chances.

Depends On your point of view. Foles' stats are real. His win pct and TD-INT ratios are great. Don't throw away a ruby for a shiny rock that might be a diamond (but odds are it isn't). Foles only looked bad when more than half of his starting OŁ was out.

Some of you guys would cut Tom Brady or Peyton Manning because he doesn't run well.

Fix the defense so that when the offense scores 30+ points, we should win.

He looked good for a few games but so did Mike Vick in 2010. He was also the beneficiary of a totally new system to the NFL, stud weapons, miniscule tape on himself & an awesome OL. Without all those things in 2014, he fell back to earth with a thud. Dude led the league in turnovers before getting hurt AGAIN. Did he win in 2014? Sure but most of those wins were not because of him but despite him & all his turnovers.

What is he? I dont think anyone knows. Its only an educated guess at this point. He really isnt as proven as some like to believe. As far as the running part, it matters but not nearly as much as all his turnovers, health issues, back pedaling etc.

We'll see how it goes but count me as someone who is on the Mariota bandwagon. Id take that chance. Im tired of the same ole shit.

You're darn right - I would cut Brady or Manning, if I could have Russell Wilson! :)

I'm never in favor of giving up the farm for 1 player but I don't see this as being "the farm".

I'd do this trade in a heartbeat….but would the Titans? Foles I can certainly see them having interest in, but perhaps not so much Vinny Curry. Ray Horton was hired to fix that defense last year and he runs a base 3-4 defense. Curry's best value/position, and where he'd like to play, would be as a 4-3 DE. He's a great pass rush specialist in a 3-4, but he should have much more value to a 4-3 team where he can play the majority of snaps.

But back to this trade. Curry is not likely to resign with us next year IMO. Yes he's a diehard Eagles fan, but he's a natural 4-3 DE and he knows that's where his money is going to be at. Foles is a young viable player with potential to get a little better, but I don't think he'll ever be a premier QB. Mariota is tailor made for this offense and has the potential to be very special.

So we give Curry, Foles, a 2015 first and 4th, and a 2016 first. I'd do that. That would still leave us with a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th for this upcoming draft. We'd get our franchise QB who's tailor made for this offense and has played for Chip already, and we still have a pick in each round this year. I'm all over that. Would the Titans pull the trigger or would they try to get more than that. Perhaps they wouldn't want Curry and would rather take a 2nd.

I fully understand that no NFL prospect is a sure thing, but you have to do your homework and stay true to what you believe. If you believe Marcus Mariota is that guy then I don't see this trade as giving up too much. Washington gave up much more to move up just a few spots. It's extremely hard to win the whole thing without a premier QB leading your franchise.

That trade is not giving up the farm ... I actually don't think it would be enough to move up to the Titans spot. I'm willing to give Foles one more shot, but I tend to see swat's side on this which is that all conditions were very favorable to Foles 2 years ago. When things weren't ideal last year he looked very average and if not for a great Defensive / ST's effort early on in the year Foles' loss record last year would have had at least 2 more L's. I prefer not to give up the farm for Mariotta, but I'd do Wings' trade in a second.

Only one team gets Russell Wilson and Russell Wilson wouldn't be successful on most other teams. He's a magical combination of ability, scheme, and great coaching.

So you don't have enough info to make a decision on Foles, but you're all in for Mariota (who you know far less about) ?

I agree.

I think Russell Wilson is a good QB. IMO he will NEVER be the type of QB that can carry a team. I think a lot of people really overrate him. I think Russell Wilson will be great in our offense and I think will be complete garbage in an offense like the one Denver ran.

Foles was scared to death this year when the pocket started to collapse. I don't think I've ever seen someone look as scared as him before. Just a fuckin pussy. Sure, he looks ok with no pressure but this is the NFL and your gonna get pressure.

Agreed. I don't think the Titans would take that. Vinny Curry would probably have to be replaced with a few more draft picks for this year, including a 2nd rounder. He's not going to be an ideal fit in Ray Hortons 3-4 D, just like he's not an ideal fit in our 3-4.

I think Vinny Curry could have 2nd or 3rd round value to a 4-3 team.

I disagree. He didn't perform very well, but I don't think he was scared at all. Did you think he was scared last year?

Gotta be honest about 2013 & Foles.

Lets take out the Raider game.

Without that HUGE game, Foles was 62% in 2013. He was still good but look what he had going for him as I have stated before. Plus lets be honest, he got lucky in a few games. Should have had at least a few more picks.

The dude threw for 300+ yards only twice the whole year in 2013. vs Oak & then Minny in a game he sucked in to be honest.

He was average at best in 2014.

So....what is he? Is he capable of great games? Yea. But is he consistently good with the ball? Can he get off to good starts for the most part? Can he run faster than any of us? Can he manage a pocket & avoid sacks while also NOT throwing picks?

I think he is an average QB surrounded by a lot of good players & a great O mind. Put Mariota in his place & I think we will finally see what this O can do in the NFL.

I say do what it takes to get him. The Bucs will probably go with Winston. If so, we'll have our chance & we have to take it.

The misery of average QBs has to end eventually for us as Eagles fans...and Id like it to end ASAP.
