I grew up watching hoops during the early 00's and the best player I've seen was Shaquille O'neal. The dude was just an unstoppable force.

It is difficult to qualify this exactly, but I guess pound for pound just about automatically would disqualify any big men.

I would argue that Curry already has a more impressive resume than AI.

Nash and Stockton also belong in the conversation. As does Jordan because he was that good.

Isiah Thomas was a massive half inch taller than Iverson

But, he was slowed down by the weight of his college and NBA title rings

Yeah but Iverson is the 2000's James Dean. Coolest dude ever and straight took it to the rim a 5'10 165 pounds. Always heard he was a better football player than basketball

That is a myth.

He would have been good enough to play in the NFL for sure, but to say he was better at football is stretching the truth. His high school highlight reel was mighty impressive, but he also never played against high level competition.

He was ranked the #1 high school senior in the country in football so it's not a myth
Could have went to any college football program in the nation. He won back to back state titles on his back.... so it ain't a myth.

Point is, we saw him excel at the highest level in the NBA. He never played college football, let alone pro. Also, what position would he have played? QB? Probably not in the NFL. He was only 6 feet tall. Surely he would have weighed more than 165 had he chosen football, but he is still awfully small.

Unless you are projecting him as Barry sanders or Jerry Rice, he would have been highly unlikely to have anywhere near as successful a football career.

He would have been a CB with those super long arms and jumping ability. He played QB and CB. I understand your point though. He never proved it on the field while proving it on the court but watching those HS videos he was absolutely insane. Great return man too.
