We're all still breathing, and have problems small enough to prioritize bitching about the Reds...kinda like bitching about the weather.

Lotsa positives this week...

The Reds aren't 12 back.

They won 4 out of 9 so far. Ok, not great but...Could easily have been swept. Votto doesn't have blood at Biogenisis.

Dusty isn't on a 5 year deal.

Choo is still on the team, and Stubbs is in Cleveland.

Yep. Patterson is still in MLB, I believe. Longevity is something Dusty ...and herpes, understand.

Hey...Mt. Rushmore just sits there motionless, and a couple of million people a year pay to see it. Maybe Dusty has something there.

I gave up on the gym a decade ago. I spent the first half of my life in one, and im still old, fat, and need a right side complete replacement... Hip, knee, ankle, wrist, a few fingers,shoulder, and probably a right side brain transplant wouldn't hurt. Now, I'd just as soon smoke, drink, eat, and enjoy for the last 10-20 years of my life, so I don't have to worry about living to 90 as a drooling Alzheimer's patient sharing a Jethro Bodine sized bowl of cereal with 5 other old people who's Depends need changing. There are worse things than man boobs, or even death.

Besides, if there is baseball AND justice after death, I plan on making Dusty a batboy for eternity. If everyone dies when they're supposed to, he'll have about 10 years to practice before I get there, so it may let take him a millennium or so before he gets it.

Over that next millennium, I'd guess Dusty still won't bunt a guy to 3rd base with 0 outs.

Well, I am getting ready to go watch my youngest daughter receive her T-Ball trophy. At least someone I root for is gonna get one this year..........

I just had a slice of Knox County watermelon, the finest watermelon on the planet.
PLUS ... I have a SECOND such watermelon waiting to be sliced. Yeah, baby!

Watermelon. A smiling kid with a trophy. A cold beer on a hot day. Dinner smoking on the grill. A smile from a pretty lady. A 30 foot putt for birdie. A hummingbird outside the window. Waking up from a good night sleep and smelling coffee brewing. Buying your kids first car, and your mothers last one. A dog that always is happy to see you, no matter how bad your day was. Finding a twenty in the jacket that doesn't fit you anymore.

There are a couple of things Id like before they give me the dirt bath. My son was 10 months old when the 1990 Reds won the series. I'd like to see him see them at least get there again. That's one on my bucket list.

I was outside the Gary ballpark last week getting ready to stand in queue for a ticket.
A guy comes up and asks me if I'm alone and I say yes. He hands me a ticket and said, "It's an extra. Enjoy the game."
You get that at minor-league games.

W/O Molina, the Birdos are in a pinch. A good catcher is a must. Parrots are good now because they got Martin. We need Hanigan or better, soon. Meso has been better than I expected. First day of August, and my 5th anniversary without a cigarette.
