Im just confused if I picked Arizona State to cover 3.5 points how is a final score of 38-27 not obvious who scores what? If I had a final score of 38-37 I can see where I would have to clarify but at 38-27 it I dont see how it isnt obvious.
We are using the total score now so it doesn't matter but anyways I'll oblige your curiosity.

Here's the scenario, the games final is 38-27 Texas A&M.

Player A ends up with 7 correct picks overall & has predicted a tiebreaker game score of 38-27 Texas A&M.

Player B ends up with 7 correct picks overall & has predicted a tiebreaker game score of 38-27 ASU.

The next highest correct number of picks is only 6.

With a total score prediction of 65 points total, we would still have a tie for the week. With an actual final score prediction (As Mamba first suggested) Player A, picking Texas A&M in this scenario, would be the clear winner.

Now I used exact scores in this scenario to make it easy to understand but the score could still vary and all we would need to do is calculate the differential to find the winner for the week!

Honestly, I thought that was the way we worked it in the past, sorry for the confusion.

I think I'm confused now. @Vitamike, when you get a chance can you just look at my picks and tell me if there's anything I need to clarify? I plan on kicking ass and fuckin shit up this year, I don't want to have my picks not be counted for some reason...
Sure, hows about picking a winner in the Oregon game. You skipped it and didn't make a pick in that one.

Eastern WA @ Oregon -30 1/2
As far as the tiebreaker scenario goes, you had it covered both ways. :thumb:

BUT I PICKED ARIZONA STATE TO COVER THE 3.5. IF TEXAS A&M WINS 38-27 THEN ARIZONA STATE DID NOT COVER THE 3.5.

Somebody is rustled.

Sorry for my sarcasm. But let's remember this is supposed to be fun.

I believe I have received more rainbows and negs in a pickem thread than I have any other thread and that is saying something.

Yes somebody is rustled, because no one has negged your posts in this pickem thread.

I was doing my best to explain the details you outlined. If you want to change them midstream and be silly about it in posts, your gonna get face palms and rainbows on those posts, both neutral ratings.

I just dont see what is confusing about my picks.
If I pick Arizona State to cover the 3.5. and my final score is 38-27 how is it not obvious who I think has 38 and who will have 27 at the end of the game?

Seriously. It isn't a big deal.

We have managed this for two seasons just fine.

Not sure "hedged bet" means what you think it does.

And I honestly don't think you are qualified to do this if you believe @Olyduck is hedging a bet.

Dude. ASU is a +3 1/2 dog

He picked ASU +3 1/2

Final of 38-27.

Please explain how in the MF that could mean he has "hedged a bet" w/ aTm winning by 11 when he picked ASU.

I said I don't care how you do the tiebreaker mamba.

It's your call but if you want to give me grief for explaining the differences of picking the actual score vs the total score than it's you who is making this into something that it not.

Manage the hell out it, I'll bow out.

The spread has no bearing on the tiebreaker prediction.

It is in itself, separate of your picks, the tiebreaker game included.

If the two top players for the week get the same number of games right, we would use a tiebreaker to find the winner.

If you both picked the exact same score of 38-27 for that game, and one picked ASU and the other picked Texas A&M as the winner then the team that actually won would decide the pickem winner for the week.

I have no beef here, qualified in your eyes or not.

I never thought Oly was hedging his bet, I just asked for clarification since was the only one to not make a distinction.

But one would hedge their bet by counterbalancing thier game prediction score by picking the opposite team as their pickem, especially if they were unsure of the victor in the tiebreaker game since it is two points.

This is simple stuff, simple math. And I think some of yous had this whole discussion prior. I stayed out of it then and I guess I should have let sleeping dogs lie now.
